Hey guys, please be gentile, as this is my first post on GWG ^^.
So, heres the thing, I had a Ranger in beta, but couldn't seem to make him very strong... I'm looking for a ranger build that is competent solo, but can PvP later on.
I have no preference on the sub, and would like to be able to have a pet, I love the pets, and if there are skills to make pets good, would be nice, please help me out, any posts topic related are appreciated, thanks.

Also- If someone could tell me how to charm a wolf I'd appreciate it, I think i've got an idea but..meh...
- Takes 2 rangers, one charms, and when it doesn't work, the other one charms before the Charm Break skill is availabe again ?
I dunno lol m~(^.^)~m

It’s hard to give a good ranger build since there so many ways you can play him/ she but I am going to give you what knowledge I have. I personally do not like pets there just not that powerful but if you take a pet defiantly take the skill Tiger Fury with you becasue you have points in beast mastery skill. I don’t know if you are going to do PvP but you haft to decide your role anti caster / anti melee. I think Ranger when played right make the best Mage Killer some might disagree and go with Messier. I change my mind about skills alot but these skills seem do be best in PvP to actually help the team. And some pointers to by the way I am a level 18 RA/Me
Raise you expertise to the max- Expertise sucks till you can pump 7 or 8 points into it then you see the pay off.
Ranger Suck till you get to level 14 or 15. They don’t suck but once you acquire some of the upper skills along with the fact your expertise is high you become much ore useful.
These are with no ruins and I am not including with the +1 with the hat. But Markmanship and expertise will be raised to at least 12 with ruins and hat in my build.
Expertise 10
Marksmanship 9
Wilderness survival 10
Domination Magic 7
(1) Distract shot – Spell interrupter. Mages hate this spell
(2) Pin Down- This cripple a target. If you running for your life or a mage is ruining for his this is a must have.
(3) I am still testing but you must take a defense skill Throw Dirt or whirling defense cant decided which one I like better. If a warrior gets to close this will save your life Ranger get there butt whipped by warriors bad unless you bring a defense with you.
(4)Always bring REZ – Resurrection Signet
The other 4 skills I am giving are really up to you and my mind not even set on them
(5) Apply poison -I love poison I don’t have the elite so I use apply poison and love it.
(6) Urgent troll – This is a fairly good heal just take a while to cast. I almost put this as a must and I will probably always bring it
(7) Take an attack skill I like Hunters Shot or / Penetrating attack. I think I am leaning for towards Penetrating attack do to its more powerful and recharges about twice as fast.
(8) A Mesmer skill I usually take backfire to mess and kill mages
Some people say you haft to have favorable wind or read the wind and I probably try to work that into my build if I stat missing a lot of shots but I just don’t miss that often. I have two Bow a short bow which fire quicker and a long bow to start out with.
I don’t think I know everything about the game but I put about 20 hours in PvP and love it. This seam to work pretty well.
