Zaishen Rewards just don't seem worth it...
Xsiriss
Most of them don't seem worth the time, especially the silver and copper rewards. For example a superior identification kit costs 500g, but 80 copper coins, which is basically a mission/30mins of work, it's just not worth it as that 500g can be gotten in a few mins. And normal tomes are worth 100 coppers that drop like hell through farming, a z-key which can be obtained much easier through doing some pvp costs a whole gold coin, that's 500 coppers. It just seems coutner productive as much of these 'rewards' can be obtained through easier options, especially the tomes.
I propose the costs, mainly for the lower classed rewards, are reduced.
P.S This is not Q.Qing at the update, I love it and think the Z-quest idea should be carried to GW2, it just seems slightly counter productive at the moment.

/notsigned, it's like those kournan coins and trade contracts they hand out for elonian quests, the onlything worth cashing in those for is either the gems or superior salvage kit, but you can still get a varriety of items if that's what you want. It's just a different form of currency(since you can't trade the coins anyway).
MisterB
Consider those who think Hard mode is "too hard" or those who don't PvP(often one and the same). These players now have an alternate means of acquiring tomes and Z keys.
They may tweak the numbers in the future; it's too early to tell.

I don't do the quests thinking about the reward at the end, i just like an incentive to replay old quests, and slowly but surely its getting me to do HM missions and aim for bonus.
I do think the prices for stuff is abit steep but i don't care. leave em alone IMO.

I see the problem in the prices of some items in the collectors.
Things like the Everlasting crate of fireworks are fine, but others are not.
You just have to compare with the cost of pet unlocking.
You make one mission, get 50copper, and can unlock one normal pet.
The legendary Moss Spider costs just 5 gZCoins. And once unlocked, it is unlocked for the ENTIRE account.
Then you can either evolve it yourself, or spend just a few more silver coins to get it to max tier.
Prices for pets are just fine. I would say they are perfect.
But a Heavy pack, that is used for a single character, costs 20 gCoins.
Even the Rainbow Phoenix costs less than that.
They need some rebalancing.

I don't mind the low quality of the items, it's all for fun anyways. I can't imagine anyone relying on the zenshin coins to get anything worthwhile. But to get 100gold coins, you need 50,000 copper coins(50 copper = 1 silver, 10 silver = 1 gold, you want 100gold, simple arithmetic). The ratio is too big imo, i don't mean making getting gold coins easier, but 100 gold = 5000 copper would be a nice ratio, 50,000 is just waaaaay too much.
Kagome
So what items are worth it? Moss Spider and Fireworks? Too bad I used up like 100 on Identification Kits. XD Are they gonn ahave these quests everyday?
AKB48
Items like different forms of tonics, things that people can use and say "Wow, this is fun!"
Kagome
Oh. XD What is a moss spider...?

It's a pet that every ranger saw in pre-sear and wanted to cap but hasn't been able to for the past 4 years.

I like this system of rewards.
Most of ppl just want easy things, easy titles and easy farming. This is a no-grinded reward system

If anet want to do something right, they need to make sure that coins STAY UNTRADABLE.
But I agree. The rewards are kinda lame. Once everyone gets their heavy pack, there will be no incentive to continue doing the quests.
Everlasting tonics should be at the gold trader, as well as exclusive gold weapons that are customized for the character that gets them. Even minipets would be a great addition. Just something you can't get anywhere else in game. Otherwise the update (like everything else of late) will be fun for a few weeks, then die into nothingness.

They are rewards nevertheless.

I approve of the new system. Although I would like to see the costs rebalanced and some more stuff added. Its a good way to get random stuff, and I agree that weapons and the like should never appear at the zaishen trader, thats like slapping a price tag on them. Zaishen rewards should just be like it is now, stuff that doesnt really affect that game majorly. It lets poor people get tomes which i approve of.
Beyond this lets not forget the effect of the quests, especially for PvP. While many will disapprove, I like the changes, I went to TA the other day and boy was I surprised, 4 districts! on a normal day TA struggles to have 5 ppl in it. It will be the same for other forms of PvP, its bringing new people into it and old ppl back, even for a short while . I dont agree with the "omg its overrun with noobs now" type people, now people have a reason to try pvp they never could before, and I think its great! New life is coming to PvP!! oh yeah and the PvE ones are good too I guess.

The price for some things is fine, but for some others...
Equipment Bags, Eternal Crate of Fireworks, even tomes... that' ok.
But...
A 1 point party item for 30 coppers and 10 golds?
A guild wanted me to go to Kanaxai HM again (no, please) for the reward...
175 coppers for Kanaxai HM ---> less then 6 party points.
Seriously. Some "prices" need to be retought.
Maybe 10 coppers and 5 golds for those items is better.
This is the only tiny flaw i find in this great update.

it's all about that 15 gold coin Backpack, innit? So let's just chill and wait till we accumulate 7500 copper coins to grab it. The rest of the rewards is merely a waste of coins.
Tadpole Lord
I love the idea of being able to trade Zcoins for exclusive minipets and other items unobtainable elsewhere. The packs are good, fireworks are good, moss spider is epic, everything else is just meh. Minipets and perhaps even special headgear/gloves/whatever would be soooooo coooooool.
Shadowhaze
I like the zcoins and quest ideas as well, but agree they need to rework some of the numbers. Other than that, it's good.
MithranArkanere
At least there should be a minimum per quest in hard mode.
Even if a Boss is relatively Easy, you have to get there first most of the time. They should count also the travel to the boss.

Yeh as i've said, I love the update the numbers jsut need reworking , the idea of having more than just the moss spider to work towards would be good, weapons and new 'common' armour pieces would be immense.
zelgadissan
I think the tomes and such might be a little high, but I think 1 silver for normal or 1 gold for elite might be too low, so I'm torn on those. Now the bigass equipment back, that bothers me. 5 gold Zcoins for 15 slots, but three times that for 20?
Great system, but the prices could use a look-see.

Well seems like it put the books back in business also just keep them all onhand and fill them out when doing the Zquests add an extra bonus when filled mainly just the gold unless you do the faction ones

I dont care how many coins it takes to get what. I like that you cant trade them with other players, but I DO want to be able to put them in storage. Thats it, just to put them in storage.
kazjun
A good system, but poorly thought out numbers. Crossing practically the entire vanguard area to do a long slogging dungeon once for 105 coins? When you could just gank molotov over and over on all your characters for 70 coins? Or HA for like 350? At least keep a permanent HA quest up or something...
AKB48
Just doing it for fun now......going over to demigod after this month. =D

Anyway, we're veering off topic. I agree the coin -> prize ratio's a little unbalanced, but I guess they don't want the grind to be over too quickly. Once I get my heavy pack, I'm probably just going to use the signpost missions as excuses to finish my Guardian title and spend the coins on tonics or something.

I did some math!
If you get small packs using 5 Silver Coins, it saves you as much money as if you were to get any Elite Tome for 2 gold coins and sell it for 10k. Now, not many Elite tomes sell for 10k, may a Rit will, but maybe not. At that rate, taking into account cash spent on conversion, bronze coins are worth just under 10g each.
Now, if you make a Heavy Pack (20-slot) and sell that for 100k, bronze coins are worth 13g each, and that is taking into account the 2.35k you had to spend on conversion.
If you sell a Z-key for 3.75k, which is a reasonable price, then bronze coins are worth about 7g each. If you instead get 5 Flames of Bathazar and sell each for 750g, bronze coins are worth just under 7g each. Selling Lockpicks give 6g per bronze. Creme brulee and Firewaters give 5g each.
All other uses for Zaishen coins give less than 4g, with an average of 3g each. The worst way to spend coins would be Urgoz, Deep, and Elite scrolls, at 2g per bronze.
I personally hope that the reward amounts are increased a fair amount. Some balancing could happen with reward prizes, but they hit the mark pretty close, to be honest. Like it should be, the best way to make a profit is to sell to other players.

Well.....3k easily earned per day..... probably good for the poorer players in GW? But that's about the only good thing I see in Z quests/and its rewards.
LONGA
Consider some of those bounty need to go trough dungeons. When you fail halfway you restart in a very far starting point. They should brought the reward above those zaishen misson.
Tyla
I don't think they need touching at all. The only thing that I think needs to be sorted is the trading of coins across your account, which I heard was a bug.
All it really is is incentive. People who actually play PvP like they did before Zaishen Keys and all that junk played PvP FOR the PvP and not for some pixelated reward, they played because they were playing with and against other players. These, although for the "wrong" reasons in what I think, bring people into the PvP side of the game anyway. People are playing, and that's really all that matters.
Complain if you want, but when it comes down to it, the rewards mean nothing, fair play and cooperative play is what means a lot.

You guys are evaluating the Zquest's the wrong way.
It's not about making a valuable way to farm. You don't seem to realise that you did most of the zaishen missions/quests/bounties atleast once when these didn't exist for an even lesser reward. It's simply an extra, just like the bonus weekends. Makes your reward for something you'd most likely do sometimes even bigger if you do it on the day it is available.
I personally love it. I have been away from GW for a while but now I just came back and I must tell it is much more enjoyable with the Z quests. It gives me something to do just for the fun of it with an extra reward, instead of doing something for a future goal like farming and shizzle.

I do like the idea and have been replaying the missions, but yes some of the ratio's are off the wall like the zkeys and well they've all been mentioned enough.
It's too late but I would have really liked to see a special holiday event Zaishen Coin reward NPC with limited time items (maybe a few xtra z-coins from seasonal quests/games).
These z-coin rewards seem like something they could, and might build on.

meh, most of the rewards aren't needed anyways, so im not worried about costs, lol
