More than I expected, but pulled off worse than anyone could have imagined (then again, I prepared myself to be let down beyond anyone's wildest dreams.. I was just let down). |
Go play something else if this is not your cup of tea. And looks pretty obvious to anyone who reads your post that this *is not* your cup of tea.

Zaishen Menagerie: ** (2/5) I really couldnt care less about this thing. Its nice to not loose your pet for good forever though. They should make it so that you can instand cap your pets again there, so you can change pets all the time. Or am I talking blabla here, and it that already the case? |
Can easily reacquire any pet you add to your zoo
RE: Miscellanious
A lot of you mention skill updates.
What skills are you so anxious to see updated? (That question should probably be another asked in a new thread but I was just wondering)

Equipment Pack: (3/5)
The purchasable equipment pack is too small and if you want a larger pack for each of your many toons, it will become a chore to obtain.
Xunlai Storage: (3/5)
I would have given it a 5/5, but I'm deducting two points because of the way you have to obtain the free storage pane. I'm one of the unfortunate ones who doesn't remember my NCSoft login and is waiting for support help. Next time, just use the in-game store.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: (5/5)
This has pretty much brought me back to the game.
Zaishen Coins: (4/5)
Great idea and I love the things you can buy with it, would be 5/5 if the storage bug was fixed.
Zaishen Menagerie: (4/5)
I love pets, so I'm there. Deducted one point because the pets you turn in aren't yours (name and all).
Nicolas the Traveler: (5/5)
Finding Nicolas every week adds a little more fun to the game.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: (5/5)
Yep, great.
New character customisation:: (5/5)
I probably won't use it, but it's great that it's available.
Miscellaneous: (5/5)
A great update, once I’m able to add Zaishen Coins to storage I’ll enjoy it all the more!

Equipment Pack: **** (4/5)
I kinda likethe idea that you actually have to WORK for the thing, but would like the option to upgrade them from small all the way up to the 20 slot one.
Xunlai Storage: **** (4/5)
I would have much rather been able to get the free one through the in-game store and there were lots of problems with the NCSoft site.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: **** (4/5)
Excellent addition to the game! It's nice to see a rivival of the community aspect of GW & the quests make for a nice way to break from the grind (unless you're grinding out Z-coins, that is!)
Zaishen Coins: *** (3/5)
Fix the bug & you get another star
Zaishen Menagerie: **** (4/5)
A nice little area that I have very little use for.
Nicolas the Traveler: ***** (4/5)
He's a very nice & fun addition to the game. Not being able to farm the crap out of him is a nice feature. Loses 1 star because he should only be collecting collectable drops, not items that can be bought from vendors. (More on that elsewhere!)
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: No rating, don't care.
New character customisation: No Rating, don't care
Miscellanious ***** (5/5)
The ability to arrange your stuff in the HoM is a nice addition - thank you A-net. I don't count the lack of skill updates here because that was an issue with the regular monthly update at the beginning of the month.
Overall - meh, they get a 4.

This punished players of multiple characters. A player with five legendary guardians now gets the same benefits as a player with one legendary guardian. Because duplicate achievements are canceled out. This really needs to be revisited. |
If anything I'd say you punished yourself by completing every single mission in this game at least 10 times.
Not to mention nobody knows how or what will the Hall of Monument benefits be exactly, the whole thing may be completely useless.

Equipment Pack: *** (3/5)
Anet lost one star for the grind, lost another star for lack of alternative way to obtain these, lost another star for a non cascading system. Gained another star because these are really a great idea/item. Could have been 5/5
Xunlai Storage: *** (3/5)
Star lost due to having to buy these. Another star lost due to far too much cash for just one pane. Third star lost due to the insane hassle it was to get a free one. Star gained because they did give us a free one.
Zaishen Coins: ** (2/5)
Lost star due to yet another item that has to be stored before spent. Lost star due to the bug with storage that should have never been there. Lost star due to no other way to obtain the coins (read spend balth faction). Gained star because there are some nice things to buy such as elite tomes. Lost star due to how much of a grind it is to gain coins to buy these things with only coins.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: *** (3/5)
Lost star for the pissant rewards you get in NM and half the time in HM. Lost a star due to them only being repeating old content. Lost a star for limited number in log. Gained a star for helping to revive grouping...now if they could only make pugs smart.
Zaishen Menagerie: **** (4/5)
This is a great feature and well done but the bug with not being able to recapture some L20 pets (raven, rainbow phoenix) costs them 1 star.
Nicolas the Traveler: ***** (5/5)
Great game design. It's fun, new rewards etc. Good job Anet. (gotta echo what you said here )
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: ***** (5/5)
How it should have always been.
New character customization: *** (3/5)
Lost a star due to not free and no ingame way to get them. Lost a star because the options are not available at core character creation.
Final Score: 28/40 or 3.5/5

i rate the whole update as a whole a 4/10. the update seems to have been more for arena and them making money than it was for the gamers and community of guild wars. in fact besides looking at a couple things i haven't even played during the fourth year event so far this year because i an dissapointed. the few cool things they added, that don't require real money require grind. it still seems to me like arena is trying to find more ways to make money without adding anything of real value.
to be honest i would rather be paying for expansion packs, even if it took longer to get guild wars 2 out. if we where getting a steady flow of new content through expansion packs up until the release of guild wars 2 i would have been much more satisfied with that. instead it seems we are going to get very little real new content for years leading up to guild wars 2. how many gamers are going to be interested in guild wars 2 when they see that guild wars went 2 or 3 years without any real new content? i am losing interest in guild wars 2 more each day that goes by because guild wars isn't getting anything to hold my attention because there is no real new content. and most of my friends and guild members feel the same way.

I am generally satisified with the content of the update, but not satisfied with the price.
It is beyond reason that a simple name change or gender change should exceed $5. Moreover, the extra storage tabs shouldn't exceed $5 either, as they are less than half the space than an additional charecter.
I have already paid more than $100 for my chapters and additional slots. These services are just too much money.

Equipment Pack: **** (4/5)
Great addition, but in agreement with many; it's a chore to get the bigger one as opposed to the merchant one.
Xunlai Storage: ***** (5/5)
I have little use for extra storage, but the free pane was still a nice addition. I have no issues with the rest being available in the online store.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: ***** (5/5)
While the content is not exactly new, it does provide something to do on a daily basis. It has given new reason to PUG in some areas, opened the door to get more players into PvP, and it's just a nice change of pace.
Zaishen Coins: *** (3/5)
Wasn't exactly giddy with excitement over the rewards.
Zaishen Menagerie: ***** (5/5)
I've no use for it, but I see nothing wrong with it.
Nicolas the Traveler: ***** (5/5)
Free gifts and fun gifts at that? Sweet.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: **- (2.5/5)
No use for it, but yay that it's here nonetheless? It loses stars for me because HoM doesn't allow me to pick and choose what armors/weapons I'd like to submit. I'm sorry, but my favorite armors and weapons, the ones that mean something to my characters, aren't destoryer weapons and aren't full elite sets. "Sonata" requires a mishmash of armor from multiple sets to provide the image she needs to portray the character. Her Rose Focus is another huge part of her character. Not being able to add that is problematic to me. I'm sure it's not an issue for most, but it is for me. It's probably the biggest reason why I never visit the place. If HoM ever becomes more flexible I'll be more happy about it and perhaps use it.
New character customisation: **- (2.5/5)
This is one of my biggest issues. I think Anet missed an opportunity here to find middle ground. That middle ground being a cross between a gold-sink and bringing in income. I felt small changes, such as hair color, or hair style, should have been high priced gold and plat sinks while making larger changes, such as faces, names changes, etc; tied the online store the way it is now.
While I have no real use for the make overs, if small things like hair color were tied to plat (say 5K) I'd be more willing to sink the investment.
Miscellanious **** (4/5)
Overall I'm impressed and the hard work shows. Some disappointments in certain areas, but at the same time I never expected perfection either. As mentioned by others, there's still some bugs I'd like to see addressed.

Only 2 stars because the purchasable equipment pack is very small and bigger packs are unreachable because of the grind involved - can't see the point tbh as we've coped pretty well for the past 4 years.
Xunlai Storage: ** (2/5)
yes, superb that they finally listened to the community and gave us the option of more storage but loose 3 stars coz a) we have to pay for it and b) the NCsoft website and account linkage is just blatant marketing and c) because of the huge account not known and your account is link to a different gw account issues. NCSoft - get it sorted!!!
Zaishen Challenge Quests: *** (3/5)
The changing quests are fair a great stimulus to the game and community. But putting end of dungeon bosses as the Bounty just doesn't warrant the level of rewards available therefore not worth the time for me as a casual player.
Zaishen Coins: * (1/5)
Unneccesary because we already have gold as currency. And the items are way too expensive + the storage bug that should have been spotted during play testing.
Zaishen Menagerie: ***** (5/5)
At last, the ability to swap and change pets - as a Ranger primary this is like heaven on earth!!

Also features that the players were asking for since almost day 1. They loose 3 stars because they're not free, and there is absolutely no excuse for missing the armour bug in play testing - that is laughable.

There's no reason for them to have been so grind dependent. I love the idea, and the way they work, but they should be available without having to spend several months working for them becuase of some new currency idea.

Love the Free pane (thank you Arenanet! ), and it seems like we got exactly as we asked for with it. The only downside is that the panes seems a bit steep in terms of cost.

33 out of 45 stars, 3.6 out of 5 overall. Great update, love the stuff. But the additional grind elements, as far as the EQpacks, and also the micro-transactions let it down.

Xunlai Storage: *** (1/5)
I give it a 1 just because they could have just given everyone a free pane or figure out a different way to give them to us rather than the totally F'ed up NCSoft account Bullspit way. Totally peeved about this
Zaishen Challenge Quests: **** (5/5)
Great addition. This type of thing is what I expected from Guild Wars from day one. Its what I thought the whole idea of streaming media was about, that they could add new content more frequently. Anyways, this is a great addition and I PRAY that GW2 has something similar, something that will change every week.
Zaishen Coins: *** (5/5)
I see no problem with this. Should also make them unsellable and un tradable. There is plenty of other stuff in this game to sell, we don't need yet another item to skyrocket in price and be unreachable. You want the prizes the coins offer? Then get you a$$ out there and work for them yourself. Love it that way.
Zaishen Menagerie: **** (2/5)
Maybe I am dumb but this place is confusing to me. If I take in a pet of low level and talk to the main person, they take that pet and I have to recharm to get it back? Confused and probably just won't use this feature, but I am sure its a great addition to rangers and pet owners.

Great game design, great idea. It's fun, new rewards etc. Good job Anet. We should have had something like this a long time ago. This is another type of feature I am hoping for in GW2. Love it.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: **** (5/5)
Great, fine, whatever. Not really all that important to me.
New character customisation: **** (5/5)
The feature that the players were asking for. So what if its not free, I am sure its not all that easy code-wise to make this happen, so pony up the money if you really want it that bad.
I am saving up for the big one. Great idea to have these added.

Equipment Pack: (4.5/5)
Will love having the 20 slot pack once I get it. Seems it will be a bit of a grind to obtain, but I think it will be worth it. Anything worth having isn't free.
Xunlai Storage: (4/5)
Love the free pane. Don't like the price of additional panes and therefore won't buy them. I'll buy additional character slots as needed for the storage as I have already done in the past. It's not Guild Wars fault that NCsoft was not prepared to handle this and the update from City of Heroes (?) at the same time. It's also not their fault that you (and I, too) could not remember the name of our NCsoft account that many had previously set up, if we had ever used the in-game store. I used their support ticket and had my problem resolved in less than 36 hours.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: (4.5/5)
Not a bad idea. Would have liked them to have new quests tho.
Zaishen Coins: (N/A)
Haven't made up my mind on this year, so not rating. Seems to be a new form of currency being given as a reward to repeat things you've likely already done at least once. Might cause a "market crash" for things like elite tomes and zkeys which can be obtained through trading with these "merchants" that never were obtainable that way before.
Zaishen Menagerie: (N/A)
Haven't used it, so again I'm going to refrain from rating.
Nicolas the Traveler: (5/5)
Used him twice now on two accounts. Very nice new addition and so far haven't had to "grind" for the items he's collecting.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: (5/5)
Everyone's wanted this for some time now. Glad it's finally here, although most of my achievements were done on a single character. Think this is a great idea.
New character customisation: (5/5)
Love having the option. There was a time when I wished I had made my main character female, but at that time he had already beaten the games and was obtaining many of the titles so I wouldn't remake him. Now there is the option, with a price of course, but I love him the way he is now and won't be changing him, ever.

Overall not a bad update. Players in the community got many things they wanted, some at a cost of real money, but hey, they put a lot of real time and real money into creating these things that were not in the game as it came in the box and that the community wanted. You don't like the price? Then it's simple don't buy the stuff because apparently you didn't want it that bad afterall.
One thing I've noticed around here - They give you what you want you cry about it (for one reason or another), they don't give you what you want you cry about it ... anyone need a Kleenex?

Equipment Pack 3/5
Great idea, awesome for my warrior since I have 4 sets of armor and needed a place to keep it, but due to the high cost and grind of the good ones seems like it will take forever to get for the casual player.
Xunlai Storage 3/5
Great idea with the free pane. A huge hassle to get though but worth it. Pricing is a bit much for me.
Zaishen Managerie 3/5
Cool idea, haven't really had a chance to utilize it yet but seems like a neat idea. Not real keen on it though since it's not really something I'd use much.
Zaishen Challenge Quest 5/5
Love them, they are a lot of fun to do and keep me semi-interested. Plus it helps with the grind towards some titles. (Guardian/Protector)
Zaishen Coins 3/5
Kind of a neat idea, but with the storage issue it makes it hard to accumulate them at the moment. Once that is fixed it would be 4/5. The amount of coins needed for things do not always equal what you can get.
Nicholas the Traveler 5/5
Awesome, I love going and finding him plus you get stuff to work towards sweet tooth, party animal, drunkard titles.
Hall of Monuments Account Wide 5/5
Been waiting for this. Awesome.
New Character Customization 3/5
Good idea but the prices seem a little too high for what you are getting in return.
Miscellaneous 4/5
Besides some minor bugs with the update everything seemed pretty good.

All GW players have wanted more Storage/Character Customization, but making us pay for it was lame, (1/5) turning your game into a Cash shop with no new content is a step in the wrong direction, not the gamers fault you are taking forever to release GW2, this update is an example of a dev strap for cash and making the loyal fans pay extra when it's not needed......you won't see a dime from me only for GW2, and if you turn that in a CS game then i am done with ANET.

Equipment Pack: **** (4/5)
I like these packs, great place to store hero weapons and what-not. I don't quite understand why its so hard to get though.
Xunlai Storage: **** (4/5)
That's really all I wanted was one more pane, so i'm pretty happy and roomy now. However the term "Live Update" is dieing now that we have to go through NCstore for half the features.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: ***** (5/5)
Gives me something to do, and all day to do it. It almost loses a point because it's almost as unrewarding as the gold at the end of a vanquish.
Zaishen Coins: **** (4/5)
I feel it's much easier to buy most of this stuff from players. The Coin to gold value is really off balance. I really like the new item/font color though.

You have got to be kidding... The one feature i've wanted since factions came out, cross campiagn hair and faces, aaand now i'm not even going to be able to enjoy it. Even if I do end up buying 5 makeover credits, it really will be too much stress watching every credit I use. Takes the entire feel out of the feature.

I'm really glad the new tonics given by the traveler arent half as lame/ugly/noisy as the zchest tonics. My friend chased a rabbit down as a white moa and pecked at it... try to do that as a freaking golem....

- Equipment Pack: *** (3/5)
The greater a feature is, the bigger the letdown when when it takes too much time to get. Those prices need a bit of tweaking, or at least there should be alternative sources to get the packs, like drops in hard mode and things like that. The bag themselves would get a 4, but I appraise things when I touch them.
- Xunlai Storage: **** (4/5)
It's nice to have some more room to hoard stuff, but I still think that unlocking is the real solution to storage problems.
No matter how big storage is, it will get eventually filled.
Make items you usually get once unlockable like Festival hats, and you save tons of space.
Weapon upgrade traders will also help save space.

I played Pokemon when I was a kid, and liked the rules. Yeah, I did, what a fight? Limited builds, being able to capture creatures and use them in fights, instant travel around the world, replayability and game 'after the game', the challenge of getting all skills and try many possible combinations with them, connection new and old games... hm... that reminds me of another game... what was it now...?
I can't feel the grind thanks to the pet unlock pack, though.
I had a different pet in each hero, but most of them where under level 11, so I got the pack instead. Now just 5 pets left to go!
The best part of it is that PvP characters have finally options of pets.

Not much more stuff done outside the forementioned updates. It's funny to see how they changed the icons for Rurik and Troll miniatures, but forgot to add one for the Ale Keg.

I don't have a problem with the packs themselves.
Xunlai Storage: **** (4/5)
I eventually got my free pane, and the promotion lasts quite a while so I think most people will be able to get one eventually. As for paying for the other four I don't really mind, it's not like they were going to give us that much storage for free. One free pane is good enough for me.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: ***** (5/5)
A nice idea and reasonably well implemented, I have no problem with the quests themselves however...
Zaishen Coins: *** (3/5)
The cost for equipment bags is far too high for anyone that has to work during the week/ doesn't have the time to spend every day replaying the same missions on all their characters. It's obviously a hard thing to balance as I'm sure there will be some players that will have a 20 slot equipment bag within a few weeks, but for causal players it is ridiculous. I suspect it will take a while for the price to drop when people start selling them as well.

Equipment Pack: **** (5/5) Great addition. Stop complaining about the grind, because it's not really the case. I spend 2h-3h online each day, did the quests on multiple toons and have 1/4 of what i need for the big bag. And it was what? A couple of days since the zcoins were introduced? So it's going to take what to get it... some 2 weeks of zquests. I don't find that grind. Specially since zquests vary so much. |

Point of note: This update was much trumpeted and claimed "lots of new content" that had required "significant dev time". That being said, here goes:

Rehash the same stuff over and over again. Nothing new and has just added more grind. The poorest part of the whole update due to the lack of imagination.
Zaishen Menagerie: **** (4/5)
I really like the Menagerie. Once the wrinkles about recapture have been ironed out it'll be a fun thing. And is about the only bit of imagination demonstrated in this new update except for...
Nicolas the Traveler: **** (4/5)
Loses a star because it clearly seems open to some sort of abuse. Way to many people selling multiple moss spider eggs for them to be legit.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: * (1/5)
As many people have primary toons working toward or having achieved GWAMM this update is totally and utterly pointless.
New character customization: *** (3/5)
Average score because this isn't something I could give two figs about.
Final Score: 18/40 or 2.25/5
But overall 1/5 as Anet have totally failed to deliver on this major content update.

Equipment Pack: * (1/5)
Nice idea, horrid implementation. Not all of us (or even most of us) care to grind away for the ludicrous amount of time it'll take to get a large one for one character, least of all for a full roster. And charging 2500g for what is essentially a belt pouch? Whatever.
Xunlai Storage: * (1/5)
"Free" pane is a royal pain to claim. Again, nice idea. If it's such a brouhaha to get the free one, what makes Anet think I'm willing to give them my financial info for another? An Alliance member had his account terminated because of their time-outs and ineptitude (they call it fraud because he mistakenly thought all the timed-out attempts to create a NCSoft acct had failed so made one the next day!). Someone's been smoking something and it ain't tobacco!
Zaishen Coins: ** (2/5)
Exchange rate between the three is wobbled. PitA for them to be customized to an individual character (why couldn't they figure a way to tie it to the account so they could be exchanged between 'toons?). Ooh, and now we get to stack them in storage. Guess that means we get to pay for a new storage pane so we have room for them, huh.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: * (1/5)
Same old, same old. Nothing new. I suppose it isn't so bad if you PvP - which not all of us do, Anet.
Zaishen Menagerie: **** (4/5)
At first glance, I think I'm liking this. Pretty though a waste of space on some levels. It'd be nice to be able to take guildies or friends in to 'show off' your pets, but I can understand why keeping it exclusively player would be better.
Nicolas the Traveler: **** (5/5)
Probably the best thing Anet's done for a long while. Both the younger Nicholas (in Pre) and the Traveler breathe a bit of fresh air into the game, especially for those of us who have been around the whole while.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: * (1/5)
So, I'm collecting titles on some 'toons and not others --- why now? I *hate* going into my HoM and seeing armor sets displayed that I have never purchased for a character just because at some point in time I bought armor at that location on a completely different character and profession!
New character customization: * (1/5)
Not going to do it and can't really see why I should want to do so since I already gave GW my $50 (per campaign). I spend time looking over hairstyles, skin color, faces, etc. before I ever hit the "play" button. Why, when I have put in hours/months/years of play on a character, would I suddenly want to totally change how she/he looks on a whim?

Equipment Pack: **** (4/5)
Great idea, I really like this addition, but like everyone else I think 15 gold coins seems excessive for a 20 slot bag. I suppose its just to keep people interested in zaishen quests for longer.
Xunlai Storage: **** (4/5)
Great that they introduced the feature, and I think it's perfectly legitimate to charge for it. I havn't bought any, because its hard for me to justify spending £6 on 20 slots when I can buy the complete GW collection for £25. If it had been a bit cheaper than buying a character slot I probably would have gone for it.
Zaishen Challenge Quests: ***** (5/5)
Great, love these. My second title hunter character might actually manage to get some titles now that there are plenty of people playing through missions, great way of revitilising different areas.
Zaishen Coins: **** (4/5)
I think its really handy to have a place to get tomes and consumables. I do think it makes things unnecessarily complicated trying to work out how much things from the zcoins collectors are actually costing you, but perhaps this is just something we will get used to.
Zaishen Menagerie: ***** (5/5)
Love it. Really awesome idea. I don't understand why they made this an unlockable pay-for feature; I wouldn't pay for it. I want to go out and hunt the animals myself! It would be nice if you could take friends there and show it to them, but perhaps disable the charm animal skill while they are there?
Nicolas the Traveler: ***** (5/5)
Brilliant. Love the fact he is in pre as well, really great. His new items are a lot of fun, love the mysterious tonics, new minis, new consumables. Love everything about it.
Hall of Monuments: now account wide: ***** (5/5)
Glad they got this sorted. Doesn't make a big different to my gaming experience at the minute, but with GW2 on the way this will be of increasing importance.
New character customisation: ***** (5/5)
Went and bought 5 credits straightaway. Brilliant that they listened to what people asked for, I think its perfectly legitimate to charge for it since it took time and effort to implement. Again not sure why gender changing and name changing are so much more expensive, but neither are things I would pay for anyway.
My final rating: 37/40 stars.
Nothing is ever going to be perfect, but this update makes a pretty good stab at it. I continue to play and love GW after 3 and a half years, because of the beautiful designs and the continued efforts on the part of ANet to improve the gaming experience for as many players as possible. A very big thank you from this happy gamer.

I was just about to add my thoughts here, but this pretty much sums up what I was going to say.
Bonus points for not using "loose" when you meant "lose".
(protip: loose is the opposite of tight and rhymes with goose, lose is the opposite of gain and rhymes with shoes)

I do not mean to offend you, but can you please stop being such an overly principled crybaby. You don't "need" a pay once alternative; you want it, please learn the difference.

Due to certain situations you don't need to know, I can only have 'pay once' games.
If I want to use the feature, I 'need' it to be 'pay once'.
There are many interesting games I will never be able to touch for having fees or pay-per-use features, and so I avoid them. First I check system requirements, then methods of payment, and then how is the game. That way I only see games I can run and acquire and won't regret not being able to run or acquire a game I like. As they say: "Out of sight, out of mind".
GW was one of the 'pay once' games, and its requirements were under my system specifications, passing that way the 'first step'. So I didn't avoided it, and tryed it. I liked it, so I got all available content since then every year, always under 'pay once', knowing that they refused to add fees and that they claimed they never add fees of any kind.
Every year, I can get once a year (twice if I'm lucky) a new game, expansions for games I own and things like those, but they must be things that can be purchased once and work forever.
It may be a bit obscure as it sounds, but it is like that. Even if I like a game, I can only have it if it is 'pay once', and anything sold online or in game stores that is not 'pay once' was been out of my reach for the last 10 years and will probably stay that way for the next 5 or more.
Weird, eh? But it's like that.

Cruddy and you should be able to buy one and at least upgrade it up. I would prefer to have the small one on the merch...
Xunlai Storage: *** (3/5)
Great - if you can afford it. I like the free storage though. It was a hassle to get through but overall i would say its good
Zaishen Challenge Quests: *** (3/5)
Uneven quest rewards, terrible rewards anyways, for pitiful zcoins which are worth nothing... Though I like that it brought players back for at least a few weeks
Zaishen Coins: * (1/5)
Interesting, but bland and grinding. Rewards for them are almost nothing

Seems ok I guess. Based more for the ranger and I rarely play that so =/ meh

FUN FUN FUN! So great and innovative, I can't even begin to explain what a blast it is to collect, farm, and then turn it in for VERY unique rewards. Love my VPS!!! TY ANET!

New character customisation: */2 (0.5/5)
Great idea, terrible implementation. $10 for something that im going to use 5 times? Not to mention that its $10 for name changes - i mean wow NAME CHANGES. Reasonable i guess since the recession is here, but doesn't make it stink less
OVERALL *** (3/5)
Good update and don't get me wrong im appreciative, but ANET could have gone the extra mile and made it a whole lot better. I love the zquest concept, but its just reusing old missions that some really have discrimination against people without the campaign or people who don't have certain builds or even people without the time. They could have made some extra quests and made some NPCs like in Wintersday or Halloween

Can't see what's wrong with this. Of course, you won't be able to get the greater bags right now, but it's nice to have something to work for since practically everything is easy to get nowadays.
Xunlai Storage: (3/5)
The idea is nice, I could use some extra storage... But isn't it a bit weird that 1 Storage Panel costs just as much as an entire character slot that can be turned into a mule for much more storage room? The free panel was awesome, though!
Zaishen Challenge Quests: (5/5)
Might be very opinion-based, but I love these quests. I get to work towards my titles, my Golden Coins and it managed to make alot of outposts lively again... Oh, and people actually form parties because of this!
Zaishen Coins: (3/5)
I think just doing the Zaishen Quests isn't enough to obtain these coins. Also, I think they should be giving some Silver coins for harder things, instead of ONLY giving copper coins.
Zaishen Menagerie: (x/5)
Haven't really tried this out yet.
Nicolas the Traveler: (5/5)
Great, a new adventure every week, and you can collect some unique loot while you're at it! Oh, and it greatly helps working towards the titles without having to wait on an event.

New character customisation: (3/5)
A bit expensive in my opinion. Well, I don't really care about this one since my characters already are the way I want them. Still, I think it's a bit too expensive, and it would've been better if they gave us like 1 change for free.
Miscellanious (4/5)
The update still came with some bugs and getting the free storage was kind of a pain, but all in all it's a good update.
Conclusion: This is the best update we've had in a while. Not only did A-Net provide us with alot of people's wishes (More storage, being able to change names/appearances of our characters), they also put in some content that will keep me interested for a long while.
