Hello
I am trying to charm a White Moa as a ranger pet. They supposedly spawn outside Olafsted in Varajar Fells. After zoning out of Olafsted and running down the hill about 25 times, I have yet to see the flock of White Moa spawn.
Am I having bad luck; do I need to complete a quest; or am I missing some other trigger point for the moa spawn?

Keep trying or try one of the other locations.
I haven't played around the the new pet zoo but if all else fails I think you can get one with zcoins, not entirely sure...

Try zoning in/out of Sifhalla instead of Olafstead.
Take the south exit into Drakkar Lake and you can see them almost immediately if they've actually spawned.
I tamed one earlier for one of my heroes and it didn't take very long.
Careful though, they will run away from you so bring an IMS just in case they get away from you.

I prefer Olafstead because the flock will run toward you, rather than away from you, as it does outside Sifhalla. It's easier to get in front of them outside Olafstead and block them until the charm completes. It isn't such a big deal to run down the hill from the portal far enough to see if they've spawned, since that won't trigger any fights.

I had a flock spawn in front of me outside of Sifhalla once that I recall. I was on my way to do my first Glacial Keg run (trying a build), so I was a little skittish.
Haven't seen them since.

I got one of my heroes one outside of Sifhalla
pretty easy tbh, just use move and wait for the white moa to show up under pet list. Even if they run away ^_^ you still tame the one you used the move on

sifhalla - drakkar lake exit...i see them 1/5-7 runs upon zoning into drakkar...in fact, one time the whole mob of them (6-8) ran with alongside me and zoned into norrhart domains, right in front of me....wish I would have taken a ss of that
