Nine Rings wiki statistics

According to http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Nine_Rings you should be able to get to Lucky 1 (50,000 tickets won) after spending around 44k. This weekend was the first time I've done nine rings, and I dropped around 50k on festival tickets, standing in a corner ring for almost all of it.

At the end of it all I am at 33,000 tickets won and 3,100 games of chance lost. That's a big difference! I was disconnected for being afk at one point but I don't think that affected my totals. Are the wiki statistics off? How much did it cost you to get to Lucky 1?

I don't look at how much i spend. I just fill up my inventory with stacks and leave the game on over night, come back with around 7 stacks left, fill up agian, repeat.

wiki statistics are approximate based on mathematical calculations. There will be variations to these statistics in real game play. you just varied in the wrong direction ;-).

wiki still say that rings are the fastest source of lucky points when in fact that would probably chesting. It can be inaccurate. ;-) it isn't perfect ;-)

There are 3 types of lies: "Lies, damned lies, and statistics"

But I think that Eragon is right.

Statistics are simple mathematical calculations, when it comes to chance it is impossible to come up with a 100% accurate estimate...

For example, say you have a 50% chance of winning something. You could never win in one case, you could win every time in another, and in a third generalized case, you could win and lose multiple times combined. It is calculated individually each time. So if you lose the first time, you second time chance is still 50%, it does not change.

In the case of 9-rings, each time you have a 1 in 9 chance of winning each time if you were to generalize it, but because adjacent rings win as well, the calculation is more complicated. (I don't really feel like doing the calculations for each so...), but anyway, I'm not surprised that you did not recieve as many pts as expected, as the chance for winning in the corner rings are lower than that of any other...

Spending over 200k, I gained around 60k Unlucky Points and something like 300-350k Lucky points. With the exception of the first day of the event and like 4-5 hours before the end of the event, I was on Nine Rings, first in a Corner ring, and for about a day in a Center Ring.

Don't trust statistics.

I spent about 200k to camp a solid 2.5 days on a corner. I gained 15k unlucky and 200k lucky.

These statistics are EXACTLY in line with the official wiki site - 14.5 hours for 50k lucky, and 246 unlucky/hour on corner...

FWIW, the previous poster has extremely high unlucky (more than double expected), which I'm somewhat skeptical of (particularly when they spent some time in the center)...

Well I spent between 200k and 300k and started the rings almost as soon as they started the event.
Finished the event when we got booted back to shing je lol I did get dced for about 7 hrs in total.
Also picked up 2 lots of 55 tickets someone dropped
Anyway went from lucky 585788 to 995308 and unlucky 70198 to 99259 both are so close to the next title
I was hoping to make it but oh well lockpics here i come again.
Was standing on a corner ring only.
