No lag here. I did have a lag problem and it turned out to be my service provider. There were some bad connections, replaced connects and poof! Fixed.
Have you talked to your ISP? Games use alot more bandwidth than a regular surfing session.
All I see is a complaint and blame fixed on ArenaNet but nothing as to why you are convinced it is the game. What have you looked into so far to narrow the problem down a bit? Have you contacted support? (some super sharp folks more than willing to help you)

Well, there are some major routers out in the US. Could very well be the problem if your route is trying to go through these.
gigE-0.border0.vosn.net - Colorado (Greenwood Village)
sl-gw9-nyc-8-0.sprintlink.net - New York
router.madbbs.com - New York
brdr-dmz-uunet.simsware.com - Texas
sl-gw26-pen-0-0-0.sprintlink.net - Virginia
mae-east.wenet.net - Virginia (Vienna)

ironically enough, i can play anywhere on the game with no troubles at all. At RA on the other hand, i play 4-5 rounds no trouble then lag out, reconnect and boom team death or round over. I have played on 4 different computers (work and home) from 2 different ISPs, so unless there is an area wide problem only for RA, I think Anet still fails on the low side.
Also the whole time this crap is happening, i can pull 10Mbit dowlnoad speeds from speedtest.net, with 20 pings.

No rly, like at least 40% I thought that since gw didnt have a monthly fee they didnt need money, that bandwith and servers to fit the hundereds of thousands of players came free.
Ppl whine and whine and whine, but look at msot others mmo and you'll see that nearly every single one has had off times longer that a day because of patching/crashes/new expansion.
In GW we had 1 major rollback, and a few days off for the expansions/ new content.
This is the problem of games that dont have a fee, everyone thinks they are entitled to have new content every month and perfect in game experience.

Donate them some money and they'd be proud to open up more servers for you.

Step 1 - made by the player:
You purchase the game.
Step 2 - made by A.Net:
They provide a working product.
Step 3 - made by A.Net:
They introduce an improvement, asking you to pay additionally for it.
What you are suggesting is:
Step 1 - made by the player:
You purchase the game.
Step 2 - made by A.Net:
Failing to provide the content the player paid for, asking him to pay an additional fee to get the the content the player already paid for into a working shape.
In that case - for Step 3, I'd tell them to suck it.
Why would the player pay additionally if they can't even get the basic product into a working shape?

Hi guys..
Well I like others have had problems with the serious lag these past few days! It would seem as thought the "Server" is laggie but before complaining about the server lag, I had over 1500 as my average, I decided to "Tracetr server number" instead using the command prompt.
Before implementing the trace, I made my way to an explorable area I did a trace and I got 2Ms. That is very reasonable. Then as I started to move I did another one...
My results were "time outs". This means that it was the Network and not the server. My "network provider" was the issue and their servers that I was routed through was in fact the problem.
I then did a trace on my "server Pack" and found that my service provided routed me to 215......99 through my state to Germany to England and back to the states!!!
I was like that is nuts. It did this cause the system was over burdened on Time Wa - you know who it is, was the cause of my laggggggg deathhhhhssssssss...

we bought the game didn't we. I wasn't asking for something for free, I ask that not be retarded when you put something on sale and walmart and don't stock it.
|

Now, yes, we bought the game and they don't charge us a monthly fee, however they still have to play employees to continue maintenance of this game while building gw2, maintenance of the servers, replacement of servers that may fail, business taxes, etc.
As such, they need to generate income somehow since they don't charge us a monthly fee, like WoW or other games. They do this by offering us things we want in the store. However if everyone boycotts that stuff because they think they should have it free, how does the company make the money required to keep the game running?
The point is that buying more servers may not be high on the priority list considering the other expenses that must be taken care of to keep the game running for us. We're just going to have to make due, and be a little more.....well, less bitchy about it anyway.
