I have never done any of the elite Elonian mission areas, my questions are:
1.- I have a character for all classes, what is some of the better classes to use in this area?
2.- What build(s) are recommended for the suggested classes?
3.- Is is even possible to get a group being a noob to these elite areas?
I have always wanted to play in these elite areas, but never really found the right time, now I have the urge!

1 - Mes, ele/mes, sin/ele.
2 - cryway (www.pvxwiki.com Team builds cryway)
3 - yes...hell yes. Theres alot of fail teams there, dunno what theyre doing etc.. The best thing to do is find a good guild, and try and come along on there runs.

Cryway is the meta right now, but by no means is it the only way.
If you do choose cryway, keep in mind that any prof can use [Cry of Pain]. So even though mesmers and eles might have the best skillset to compliment crying, other profs can do just fine with it on their bar.
You just need to make sure someone in the group is efficiently applying mesmer hexes, and that if you are using a permasin tank, that you have no other melees interfering with the tanking. Also, your Lightbringer rank makes a big difference in DoA. Make sure you display it to get the benefit.

Did the Stygian Veil mission successfully twice with my Necro. Was in about 5 groups and the last 2 I joined completed it because we were well balanced. I learned a lot doing those missions and what a well balanced team can do.
1) terra tank to aggro and ball the mobs
2-3) ele's/me's/necro nuking, ss'ing, crying
2) monks 1 bonder for the tank and 1 healer
1) ranger spirit bomber with symbiosis and edge of extinction
1) BiP er
After about a year of playing I really understood the value of a good team and having everyone know their role.
The first group that I played I was an SS Cryer and we were bombing the shit out of the mobs as the tank balled the enemy. The monk was the general and one of the ele's was the target caller. Oh and I can't stress enough how important it is to have a longbow for the tank. All the groups I failed with the war didn't have a bow and over aggro'd.
The second time I decided to play, I tested out the BiP build that I learned from the BiP'er from my last group. So my job was basically to stay the heck out of the way and feed energy to the ele's first, monks next and work my way down the list, recharging the warrior last after a battle. I also was the first to run away and save myself so I can rebirth fallen team mates. Needless to say we completed the mission and I got 5 stygian gems during those 2 runs. Didn't bother with the claws at the end.
So the ideal team is:
Obsidian/terra tank
bonder
healer
cryer/ss
any/ranger with symbiosis edge of extinction
BiP'er
Warrior need longbow to pull mobs
Another char needs resurrect chant or flesh of my flesh to raise the BiP'er if he goes 55 w/ 1HP.

Cryway isn't the only way. Neither is the tank'n'spank tactic the only one that works. It's just the vast majority of the PuG way. Local chat is filled with such wisdom as: "Warriors fail in DoA." Cryway is probably your best option if you want to join a group. You'll most likely need to join a guild group or your friends list to run anything else with any success.
