Hi, I have a hopefully simple question about factions.
I'm at the point where I am 'befriending the luxons' I havnt really done any side quests or anything, just main quests and missions to get to the luxon town to get the luxon armour I wanted. I was pretty sure I had to progress main quest lines to get there.
anyway, Togo tells me I have to take a side, I'm fine with that but wont that shut off the other factions part of the map to explore, I want to get a white tiger and the elite skill 'heal as one'...I need to get into that forest to get them...
and how could I get the map revealing title or whatever that is?

or...does choosing a side just mean i have more faction points with that side, am I still free to go to the kurs areas...???
Im sorry I'm not so great at writing out questions...its a little all over the place, I would appreciate any help in understanding this.

Thanks

basically when you complete that quest it gives you access to the luxon side of the game.

There is another quest given called Befriending The Kurzicks which you will be able to take and have in your log at the same time which will allow you access to the Kurzick areas.

So all in all, you have no restrictions within the game and can visit both areas equally.

The only difference is when donating faction and using services in towns: for example if you had 1000 luxon faction on you and only 500 kurzick, then you wouldn't be able to use kurzick merchants until you had more kurzick (but don't worry too much about this yet, there's always the guild hall

You can complete both sides, either after or before completing the campaign.

Just complete the Befriending the Luxons and spend your Luxon Faction before working on the Befriending the Kurzicks quest.

And neither is affected by which side has your guild alignment.

Be careful if you try to do both sides simultaneously though. Spending faction from one group will reduce your faction from the other group (for example, if you spend 1000 luxon faction, you will lose 1000 kurzick faction aswell for supporting the luxons). This can be very annoying when doing the quests that require you to get 10000 of a particular faction.

Also, keep in mind that to buy armor from the trader, you have to more of his side's faction on you when you talk to him.

...which only means that you should just look at the wiki and figure out the Primary Quest/Mission line that will take you to the point you need that 10000 faction and avoid the non-Primary quests that take place outside the city, then do the regular quests in the area you want to build up the faction (and don't forget to grab the bounty at the resurrection shrine every time you leave an outpost in the Jade Sea/Echovald Forest - it'll cut down on the 'grind' involved )
