Will changing my secondary ranger profession make me lose my pet?

I currently have a secondary ranger profession with a lvl 20 wolf pet. I've just completed the crystal desert quests, and have ascended.

From what I understand, I'll be able to swap secondary professions as I wish as soon as I complete certain quests.

If I were to change my secondary ranger profession, will I permanently lose my wolf pet? Or will I get it back once I change my profession back to ranger?

You will get it back even ever you equip the Charm Animal skill.

So I can go from my secondary ranger to, say, a secondary monk then back to a ranger, and my pet will still be there so long as I have charm animal?

Changing secondaries does nothing to your pet. You can change back very easily.

In other words, yes. You can change secondary professions as many times as you like, but as soon as you switch back to /R and equip [[Charm Animal], your pet will be there exactly the same as before.

You can store your wolf, charm a new pet, and get your wolf back whenever you want.
