Is there any hope for a good sword or spear assassin build?

Are there any good sword or spear builds for an assassin in PvE? I would like it to be something decent too, not just a bunch of random skills that could potentially work. If you have any ideas, full builds, or suggesstions please feel free to post.

Not sure I see the point of using a sword or spear as a sin. Sins who don't use daggers like to take advantage of their critical-strikes ability to maximize high-damage weapons like scythes. Or they use specific skills that mesh with critical strikes in ways that other professions could never match (like [disrupting accuracy]). And now and then you see crit-axe builds using [keen chop], though I don't think it's a great strategy. But what would you get out of using a sword or spear that a primary war or paragon couldn't do better with runes?

There's tons of things in gw that just are plain old flat out just not good at all. This is one of them.

There are working A/P Spear builds out there. Something was put on YouTube once upon a time, it was similar to this:

The optional skill would be an Adrenaline based skill - perhaps [blazing [email protected]] (for damage), [wild [email protected]] (for stance removal) or [spear of [email protected]] (to help deal with blind).

Hoping for a working A/W Sword build is about as realistic as hoping that some day the people of GWGuru will conquer the English language. (example: Nostro Dahmus up there)

Finding a good sword build is highly unlikely. When you think about using something from another profession as a main part of your build, ask yourself 'What is it about this profession that would make it worthwhile?' For swords and Assassins, I can't think of anything; a working example would be scythes - Assassins make use of their high crit rates and Wars have Strength and [[Warrior's Endurance].

Swords for sins aren't very useful due to its damage range, its better on axes or scythes maybe even hammers which have the potential to do high damage on a critical hit.

As for the spear build, I posted one in the obscure elites thread, using [Dark Apostasy] along with [Critical Eye] and [Way of the Master] to trigger [Vicious Attack]
