Yesterday I was trying to sell my destroyer scythe, so I was advertising it. I probably said it too many times and was stopped by the in-game filter. Luckily someone saw the messege before I stopped and bought it, 2 seconds after the trade box closed to complete the transaction I get disconnected from the network.
When I try to re-login it, it gives me a messege saying "This account has been suspended for excessive messeging/Spamming" and it says however long it was suspended for.
So what defines excessive messeging? Or did a whole bunch of people decided to report me for so called "Spamming"?
>< So now I am stuck with no GW for a bit *sadface*
What counts as "Execessive Messeging"?

I guess whenever the message 'Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging' pops up?
Just tried it, after spamming the same thing 13 times after eachother in quick succession the message popped up. Spamming was done in about 2 seconds.
You sure were spamming a lot to make this message pop up.

It shows up even if you simply chat quickly. Had it happen while explaining something. Not a big deal, and you can simply talk again after 3-5 seconds.
Now, if your account was suspended for spamming, it's because people reported you. You went overboard with it. Wait it out, and don't do it again. You don't have to sell everything in 5 minutes, and filling the chatbox with only your messages is a sure way to get reported again.

The worst part is that it doesn't make a difference between trade and/or alliance/guild chat.
While spamming in trade, it's nice to have conversation with guildies or allies. But you can't talk 90% of the time because you used your 'chattime' for spamming WTS/WTB's.
Would like it if they change that. For instance make the antispam only in local+trade, or channel specific.

In order to get your offer to be at the bottom, you must put it in trade chat again. Otherwise it stays somewhere in the middle, and fewer people take the time to read through all the offers, preferring instead to look at the first few and then scroll to the bottom where the most current ones are.

Here's a tip.
Always wait until your message goes off the screen..to repost again.
If your message is followed by your own message, thats spamming.
People can see your message by pressing "P".
If you want to avoid people reporting you for spammage, wait for your message to leave the chat window..never had a problem..cept maby when spamming targets.

Fair enough, but it gets annoying sometimes when the same guy/gal posts his/her offers every 5-10 seconds. Also, I've at least gotten immediate whispers on just one post. Mileage may vary and all that.

Just offering a possible explanation for people posting offers a lot. I personally put my offer in the Party Search screen and then chat in AC/GC for a few minutes. If I don't get any offers, I switch towns.
