Should Palm Strike say what it does?

According to my Tae Kwon Do master, Palm Strike, you curl your fingers back and strike straight forwards, usually to the nose.

Change it to

[[Palm Strike]: Target touched foe takes 10...54 damage and Bleeds for 1...8 seconds. This skill counts as an off-hand attack.

That would make more sense?

Thoughts?

Then buff decapitate to kill foes instantly.

fixing skills to do what their name implies is stupid.

Doesn't make much sense in my point of view.

Would it make sense? Yes.

Would it be good for the game if every skill did exactly what the name implied? No.

I could imagine how sick rising bile would look if it were to reflect its effects irl. Bloating up before exploding everywhere, resulting in actual death.

A palm strike is pretty much any type of attack where you hit with the palm of your hand. From what I know from Karate, there is no specified area where it can go. Technically you could just as easily use it to break someone's knee, back, ribs, etc., all of which would definitely cripple the person.

So [Mental block] shouldn't be blocking physical attacks, right?
and [brawling headbutt] should actually make your character headbutt the monster, correct?
What about [winter]? Is that gonna make the game shower with snow?
Cool idea but it's never ever gonna happen. Yes it's cool but it won't be good.

As a touch attack for a melee template, cripple makes the skill much stronger. Aside from the trampling ox interaction, it prevents your foe from kiting while you are stuck in aftercast. The skill isn't particularly overpowered anymore so I don't see a reason to change.

Wouldn't [Meteor Shower] spells end of the world??? But I would like to be [Tease] by a gorgeous mesmer before that happens.

It's true the palm strike can go for the nose but it can also be used to attack anywhere else. Iron Palm style comes to mind. It can be used with enough force to stop a heart if hit in the chest and it can kill if done hard enough on the nose. If struck in the solar plexus, it's enough to stop them breathing for a while.

As for the game, let's not add more realism than necessary to it. It's fantasy.

Well, I'm pretty sure that when you use PS you go for the knees. This discussion is over.

To OP : My thought ? is that you want to remove cripple effect, why else would you want bleeding condition instead...

Lol that would be fun, would break the chain every sin seems to use. And it is abit senseless that Palm strike to the face causes cripple XD But still, skills like decapitate would be insant kill.

My Assassin is so short that when using Palm Strike, she's more likely to be hitting them in the knees than in the face anyway, so she'd be more likely to cripple them...realistic enough for me! :P
