Hi. I just sent the following to GW Support but i thought i'd see if anyone else had had this problem as they might have an answer.
I bought a new computer 6 months ago and since then I have been unable to play Guild Wars.
The game will crash at random times, It can be at any time regardless of what i'm doing. The results can differ, either the screen will freeze for maybe 2 seconds which is followed by vertical lines down the screen which will require me to restart the computer or after the slight freeze the screen will go black and the computer will restart itself.
New computer specs are:
Vista SP1
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 12MB Cashe
Corsair 4GB Ram (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400
Sapphire HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 Graphics Card
Asus P5Q Deluxe P45 Socket 775 8 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard
Can you give any ideas why I can't play anymore?
TIA

I had a similar spontaneous restart problem a long time back, which turned out to be a marginal power supply. Did you build this machine or buy it. If so, did you add the video card to it later? What is the power supply and its ratings?
Not quite so far back, maybe a year ago, I also got random freezes, sometimes followed by screen garbage, followed by a restart. On this occasion, the graphics card was dying.
