New computer (sony vaio) -> DC -> can't reconnect

hi all,

i bought a new laptop few months ago "Sony Vaio VGN-NR21S/S", which has vista. never worked with vista before.

i use wireless internet and on my old laptop which uses XP, i simply double click the internetconnection at the bottom right and reconnect to my router.

i also had to press a button on my laptop itself to able to connect to wireless internet so he could track down routers in range


now with Sony Vaio VGN-NR21S/S there is an off-on button for wireless lan. and this button disfunctions lol. when i put it "on", a green light burns, but only sometimes? like now i put it on and off, but no light starts to burn?

so when i have the luck that green light burnns on my laptop, i can play GW anywhere in the room. but when that green light fades (when i disconnect)
i can't reconnect, because this laptop doesn't find any routers in range?

has this something to do with Vista? because i have no idea how the fix it..

could anyone help me out?

that could be a fault with the laptop its self, my sisters got the same laptop and the light stays on the whole time its cnnected to the net, have a look through your manuals see what it says

I haven't done anything with it yet. so didn't install anything

did you sister do anything to connect to wireless internet?
