Everyone don't freak out like NOT ANOTHER BOOK STORAGE FORUM. Well this one is a bit different. Since the new release of equipment bags we can carry customized gear and weapons. My thought is change the program a bit so we are able to put books into the equipment packs. This would solve the book storage problem and would give another reason to get the equipment packs.

I fail to see how this would fix the problem. It's just moving the stuff from one slot to another.

Might as well just move your weapons and armor sets there. If you use more than one set for either, you save room.

You got 20 slots free, that is more than the number of books more people would have on a single character. If they do the books. If you are such a packrat that you need more than 100 slots account wide, than you can either make a mule or buy more panels.

I truly fail to see the issue. Those who really want more storage would be willing to pay for it, if you are not, than you don't really need the storage. That's my view on it.

Nope, that definitely sounds like book storage still, and I definitely still think that it's not necessary.

If your willing to pay so much for a decent sized equipment pack then ur not that broke. In which case after doing all the quests pay the 1-2k it costs to fill up the books rather then creating the 10 or so available ones and bitching that u have no room.

Or, buy storage if u need so much.

Can't you fill some of the books later for 100g per page? If I remember you can. So there is no need to carry all the books all the time.

From a player's perspective sure.

From arenanet's perspective:
They already gave you a free, say it FREE, storage slot, make good use of it.

Anet freed up potentially 20 slots for our equipment; just fill the slots that used ot have equipment with the relevant books. Problem solved.

You can carry 1 or 2 books with you and fill in the rest later for 100g/page. I dont see why there should be books in equipment packs when you put your armor/weaps inside, you will have to put weaps back in normal bag cus its full of books.

The only thing needed is s way to check which pages you can fill without carrying the book.
Add a simple dialogue to the corresponding NPC's in the line:
- Please tell me the pages I could fill right now in the book "Young Heroes of Tyria".
* You could fill the following pages:
** The Great Wall
** Nolani Academi
** Zen Daijun
** Chakbek Village
Then, once you get them all, buy the book, pay for the filling and get the reward.

You only need to take 1-2 books with you at a time, maybe 3 for some things. So if you are doing HM Minister Cho's Estate, you may want a Shiro's Return and a Young Heroes of Tyria book both. But you can leave your Hero Handbook, Dungeon Guide, Night Falls, etc. in storage. If you don't have enough space in storage, make use of your other character slots to hold things for you.

Options are already present to handle this, so I don't see a need to add more. Putting books into the Equipment Pack would be a simple solution, but it won't solve anything. You are already getting more space on your character, and unless you have 1 armor set you are wearing and 1 weapon set you are using, there will be plenty of things to put in it. People with multiple armor and weapon sets will gain 5-20 more spots, plenty of room for those books.

All the Books take stupid amounts of stoarge space, since the addition of ZQuests I've started to actually use them and slowly fill them up and I now realise they're a big problem. But allowing putting them in eq packs won't help solve the problem at all. Wrong way.

The books need a complete rework, putting all that data into quest log would make the most sense and would be awesome. Making a better use of the already existing data storage which is used by the NPC's that can fill missing pages would be great aswell. If the game already records that data somewhere, having it duplicate and waste inventory space is a very poor design. I know a tangible object like a book feels much better than just some extra lines of text at an npc dialog, but still having so many kinds of them take so much storage is a real problem much bigger than the 'fun' of flipping pages of a book.

Use storage chest. Swap books for appropriate missions.

I'll go with Yawgmoth's idea here and set it up just like the way you're opening windows for your quest log. Stuff like this is "per character" and shouldn't be used as an excuse for buying storage space on anyone's account.
