for 15 Zaishen Gold Coins....
Dark Paladin X
Which is more worth it for 15 zaishen gold coins:
A Heavy Equipment Pack or Rainbow Phoenix from Zaishen Menagerie
I was thinking of a Heavy Equipment Pack for the following reasons: 1) It can hold 20 slots of weapons and armor. 2) My mesmer have four sets of elite armor and needs more inventory space (the mesmer also have a lot of candy cane weapons as well, the four sets of elite armor is related to Hall of Momuments FYI). But I think others may disagree and want me to get the Rainbow Phoenix. However, should I want a Rainbow Phoenix without trying to go through the hassle of playing PvP battles to max Zaishen faction cap, I need to get 10 maxed titles. Apparently, I have a ranger who is working for the max drunkard, party animal, and skill hunter as well as trying to get max Luxon title accountwide. However, I'm not sure what other titles I should go for to get 10 titles.
Apparently, my goal is to get a zaishen gold coin per day. Although I have 10 character slots in use (one which is a PvP warrior), many of them haven't completed the entire storyline for each campaign (and expansion). Also, I find PvP related zaishen challenge quests to be time consuming and very difficult (took me around 2-3 hours to finish both bonuses of the AB zaishen combat quest).
Anyways, what do you think it's more worth it for 15 Z-coins: heavy equipment pack or a rainbow phoenix.
And on the side note, I do not like the idea of having to farm ectos to get the heavy equipment pack (not to mention it's cheaper if you do the z-quests themselves to get one). In addition to that, permashadow sin have greatly changed so much that I have very hard time maintaining my energy with my sin (I think there was an update that made the build more difficult to maintain due change of recharge and duration).
P.S. been out for several months due to college.

Rainbow Phoenix is permanently unlocked, while a bag is just a bag.
Get the 15, if not, 10 slot bag instead.

I think it's kinda sad when you spent 15 Zgold on a Rainbow Phoenix, only to reach People Know Me a few months later, practically wasting those Zgolds.
I know it wasn't an issue for me because I already got 10+ titles when HoM went live. But do you want a pet that looks different but acts exactly the same as a Warthog, Crane or whatever, or would you rather have a +20 increase of personal storage?
Either way, I can't decide for you.

If you aim for 10 max titles, drunkard, sweet tooth and allegiances are probably worst choices.
Protectors/Cartographers/Skill cappers will give it to you 10 titles for fraction of cost and time.
Phoenix is just a ordinary pet replaceable by any other. bag actually provides some benefit.

if only they wouldn't put down the bag requirments but raise the rainbow pheonix...

I wouldn't spend 15 gold zaishen coins on a pet even if it was William Wallace pet that shoots lightning out of its eyes and craps thunder.
Dre
I'm going to take one Heavy equipment pack for my sin (farming ^^) and large ones for all my other chars
lol XD
If you want a rainbow phoenix, just get r2 KoaBD (r2 isn't that hard to get)

Meh i wouldn't even get the 20 slot bag if i already had 15 zcoins, personally i would rather get 3 of the 15 slot bags for 5 zcoins each and have lots of storage on 3 different characters.

80,000 faction is a lot easier to obtain.

The Rainbow Phoenix may look amazing, but there aren't many builds who utilizes a pet anyway. Furthermore, according to what you've said, you seem to need the extra bag more. You can also get this pet in another method, donating boat loads of balth's faction points. I would definitely choose the bag.

Don't go for the rainbow bird. R2 koabd takes like 2 weeks at most.

yeah, bag is the way forward...
Balth faction or even easier, the KoaBD title are easier

Go for protector + guardian (3+3+1) and skill hunter (4 titles total) - those are, in my opinion, are the easiest.
If u have trouble guardianing u could also go for EotN rep titles.
My New Name
I'd say dont waste all those coins on a pet that won't help you at all...
if u desperately want it just max guardian/skill hunter/some reputation ranks and you got him
rainbow phoenix isn't so cool anyway black moa is better

It's Ross! I Love Ross! Well, I just love Fire Emblem.
Back on topic.
I'd get the 5 Gold Coin ZBag, and just wait a few months for the price of the Heavy Bag to drop.

If I had 50 gold zaishen coins, which I don't, because I got bored of zaishen quests around a week after they came out.
Lyphen
Go with the pet, so you can stick it in the menagerie, never use it again, and then feel regret over suck a gigantic waste.
Or if that doesn't sound fun, I guess you could do the sane thing and get a bag.

I think this is the best bet... 5 GZC for 3 packs for 45 slots... thats an extra 25 slots of storage verses 15 GZC for 20 slots
Shursh
i would definitely go for the bag - except i wouldn't get a heavy one, i'd get the one that holds 15, that way you can get more space for your money.
pets are overrated, especially ones you get for titles anyway.

A little off topic, but people saying that Rank 2 Maxed Titles is easy:
Guardian is NOT easy for me. I can't even get through the 2nd Mission in Tyria on Hard Mode.... frickin Charr.
I figure my path will be:
Protector, Cartographer (costs no gold, and I just need to download the text mod to help)), Lightbringer, Sunspear, and......
what?
Max Luxon Faction Rank? One of the Eye of the North titles?
What's another CHEAP Max title to get? (I don't have a lot of gold, and even just capping 90 Elite Skills doesn't sound that easy, but maybe it is easier than the other options).
The other thing is my Main toon is a Warrior, not much use for capping all those skills.

Delver or Norn, perhaps? I think Vanguard is the hardest to max, with Asura in between.
EDIT: Also, I think the Ascalon missions in HM are some of the harder missions to complete, if only because you have only 4 people. If one falters, expect to fail. (Not to mention Rurik, who simply makes the problem worse.) Frankly, I found the later missions much easier than the Ascalon missions in HM.

Yeah but if your account is UAX, you don't really need to go cap it yourself.

I did protector, cartographer, LB/SS, and I vanquished Cantha to get r2.
Maxing a single EotN reputation title might be a little easier then vanquishing if you have trouble with hard mode. The repeatable quests for heros handbooks on hard aren't actually that tough, most of them have shortcuts you can take. I just skip killing the great destroyer over and over.

15 gold z coins for a pet=epic waste of time resources
distilledwill
Get the 15zcoins by repeating the combat quests and gaining balth faction whilst you do. That way you will get the faction for rainbow pheonix, and the zoins for the bag.
Shadowspawn X
Don't spend zcoins for anything. My crystal ball tells me great zrewards are coming. Gogo ghostly for 1000 GZC!

The max faction cap you can have is 250,000 but a diverse casual pvp'r can probably get an 80k cap faster than a person who plays just one format since you only get 60k max cap per format.

Well - i think you should go for the heavy equipment bag, it REALLY sounds like you need it. Even with the largest it just seems pretty much a hassle with the CC weapons. The pet is just a pet, its being is just for vanity. The heavy bag is something that you absolutely need.
just an FYI, but 15 gold coins is a hassle to go through. Its a huge commitment. I would personally have gone with getting a large equipment pack, much faster, still a pretty big commitment, but not as bad. Though, you are not asking for this advice, im just saying its not worth doing so much work.
To be honest its not actually "cheaper" to get the heavy bag by doing quests since a typical permasin can get up to 70k an hour (though many times less). Lets say than they can get 8 ectos an hour (or its equivalent). Assuming that a heavy bag costs 80e, thats 10 hours needed to be spent. So you could spend 2-3 hours playing every day, and you should get it in less than a week.

Rank 2 max titles isn't that hard to get. If you got all campaigns, get protectors on all of them. That's just nm so no need for hm, and is free. That's 3 titles.
Then wurm your way to max SS/LB. Wurms mean hm or nm is really the same. And again free. So 5 titles.
Max your 4 factions for eotn. Vanguard just do cof runs, costs 2k but you should make more than that each run. Or run it yourself with heroes. Dwarf you get on cof runs, and top off with snowman runs. Easy and free. Norn you'd need to have the quests or get a group at olafs. And asura there's raptors. Or do the books. After doing it over and over again, you'll know the missions inside and out, so it won't matter much if it's in hm or nm. Anyway, all free (and you can make money in most cases) and you'll get useful pve skills to boot. Takes you up to 9 titles.
If you're cheap, get one carto title to get the 10 max titles. Or if you just want it quick, get a skill hunter. Canthan skill hunter is easy and quick. You can max it easy over a weekend. Costs plat and skill points though.
So easy 10 titles and you got your phoenix for your account. So get the heavy bag.

Nope, the Rainbow phoenix, because in GW, things that are useful like bags or basic weapons without nifty skins are cheap and easy to acquire, but bling-bling is expensive.
The bags are useful, and NO ONE see them while you equip them, so they are ABOLUTELY NOT PRESTIGE stuff, so they should be cheaper. But it you bring a level hearty rainbow phoenix into a PvP area, everyone will see it from miles away, because it's huge and colorful.
Anyways, the phoneix has two alternate methods of acquisition. If you PvP, you can increase titles to raise your cap to 80.000, and fill it to get the Phoenix.
If you PvE, all you need is 10 maxed titles. In about than a month, playing around 4 hours a day, you can get 4 skill hunters, 3 protectors, 2 cartographers, Sunspear and Lightbringer, and the Rainbow phoenix is yours.
The heavy bags can only be acquired in there, and small and large bags cannot be upgraded to heavy, so the logic thing to do is save ALL coins to get Heavy Packs only.
I don't know how do you plan to get 500 cooper every day, but I'm sure that is not possible in less than 4 hours.

i actually was debating that same question whether to get a 20 slot one or three 15 slot bags
