I recently got a warning for leaving positive comment on a particular, unmentioned member, in his/her thread and I feel that it would be for a great benefit to the buying and selling community of this rule was lifted. I'm not writing this thread as an appeal to my warning, I didn't read the rules and I deserve the punishment that I received.

However, I honestly believe that allowing users to leave feedback on the seller/buyer would be of great benefit to the community. Because members are aware of the buyers/sellers previous history, one can determine whether or not it would be a good idea to deal with said buyer/seller.

With the current system, each transaction is essentially a leap of faith; members deal with others hoping that what they get from the transaction is correct and fair. Having access to feedback at their finger tips allows members to be smart about whether or not they should make the deal.

kontradictions, we have an Auction system here that allows feedback. As for not doing it in the forums this would bump a post. In our Sell and High End forum a seller's thread is on the front page for a short time. Allowing people to leave feedback on a seller would only serve to push people who are trying to sell their items off the front page. There is also the problem of people having to search for sellers and scroll through threads to try to see if this is a good seller or not.

The current system has worked well over the years. It has it's problems, we know that. But overall the majority of users seem very happy with the way it works.

Leaving feedback is a wonderful idea!
You use the edit function on the post you made when bidding on the item(s) and include something like:
"Edit: Thanks for the trade ... etc."
below your original text.

This is not against the rules and I usually do so myself.

Like Inde already said: we only want threads in Ventari's bumped by:
- Posts containing legitimate bids
- Legitimate bumps posted by the OP

I imagine people would give their pals/ and alt accounts bumps as well as boosting their post counts.

As Inde said, we have an auction system for feedback. We cannot allow people to post feedback in the Ventari threads. The threads are on the first page for a short amount of time, and they can only bump once every 24 hours. Not only would this bump threads where the seller/buyer has sold/bought the items, it would be easily abused by members getting their friends to leave false feedback. It's never going to happen. Ventari threads are strictly for selling/buying only, and it's going to stay that way to keep it organized.

This completely takes care of my suggestion. The auction system is nice but it also suffers from the same drawbacks as leaving comments in threads. (False feedback).

Anywho, Yang Whirlwind provided a perfect solution without modifying any rules so I'm satisfied.
