Chromatic Scales

Where is the best place to farm for chromatic scales? I don't feel like paying 5k for the gifts, I'd rather get the scales myself.

If you have a 600 monk, you can go just the two of you.

Yeah Battle Depths just outside of the Central Transfer chamber is the best place. There are three groups of drakes just to the right as you go in. Even if you aren't able to use a farming build a full group of heroes and henchies does the trick as well....just takes a little bit longer. Only takes a couple minutes to take out the three groups and most of the time you'll get at least one scale to drop per run. I had my five in about 15 to 20 minutes just going in, killing the three groups, mapping back and repeating.

You can also start from Ice Cliff Chasm from Eye of the North outpost.
Enter battledepths. Kill the group on the left as you enter.

Go back to the right follow to where King Jalis is located. Take the south exit when you see all the dwarves. Kill the drakes there.

Zone out Heart of Shiverpeaks. Zone back in and go back around.
Zone out Ice Cliffs. Go back in. etc, etc
