I don't know if people read this area. Here's a thought I had...

Some long-lasting or potent hexes could have ongoing Energy cost. The functionality already exists in the form of maintained Enchantments - the difference being a maximum time - or the -1s of Storm Djinn's Haste.

This would discourage hex spamming, especially those long-lasting ones that splash with AoE *glares at Necromancers*

What are your thoughts? Unnecessary? Too complicated? Pointless?

Very Interesting, if this would to be implemented although, hexes would either be buffed, or energy lowered alot.

Hate to break it to ya, hexes aren't super powerful. This will discourage using hexes overall. Since when was hex spamming a problem? Last I checked, PnH got nerfed because anet wanted people to use hexes.

This idea has been thrown around once or twice but it's still an interesting idea for a rework of some useless hexes. Don't know if they'd get any use though.

Yeah hexes suck but they don't suck so hard we have to mess with them
all you need is PnH, Spotless Mind, or smite hex and your set

PnH was nerfed because it was too powerful against hexes in general... however hex pressure from skills such as [Lingering Curse][Weaken Knees][Suffering][Visions of Regret] + shutdowns is still crazy pressure.

Maybe if the AoE skills where given a "and you lose 5 energy for every 10 seconds this hex is on a character" they would be less overpowered. Atleast then if you got 3 or more people hit by LC and suffering the necro would be e-drained until they ran out.

But still, if you watch your positioning, and dont mob up then the hex pressure gets reduced and a couple of those skills can hold out against that pressure.

Hexes doesn't suck, they're just weaker if you look at the past (reaper's mark rape, wail of doom perma-shutdown, etc.), and the fact that hex removal has been hugely buffed
