Primary attrabute for your 1st and 2nd proffession

hi if i still have any posts open close plz
Anyway me personally i have a warrior and for many warriors you will know they is no good builds for Hm and general pve. Warriors would be so much better if you could have primary attrabute of your sub proffession for example w/p with leadership or for other proffesions p/r for much addreanaline.
say what you think about this

A Monk with Soul Reaping and Divine Favor? An Elementalist with Soul Reaping and Energy Storage? I smell overpowered...

1. This will seriously overpower everything. Things are already complicated enough by allowing access to secondary attributes for other professions.
2. This will also break down the difference between casters a lot. Your primary attribute is one of the few defining features that seperates you from other classes.
Physicals will become less distinct, but some differences will remain with armour levels and such.
It's a terrible idea.

If you can't make a decent warrior build then i wouldn't play one. Im a warrior and I have made tons of builds that work good for nm/hm.

What you're suggesting means that there is no reason to play a caster anymore. Since you have the same energy regeneration on an assassin / dervish but 10 more AL, you would be more effective with them, regardless of if you want to take a Minion Master, Nuker, Shut-down mesmer, etc...
As said before as well, professions are already imbalanced by being allowed to spec heavily into another profession's attributes

Warriors Endurance.
Dragon Slash.
The fact you cannot make or find a good warrior build says a lot more about you and your ability to make builds than it does about the effectiveness of warriors.
Aside from that, speccing in to other primaries just eliminates the entire primary/secondary profession principle. As it was pointed out, there would be little to no reason not to play a caster on an assassin or dervish (attribute runes being the only reason). Professions are more than efficient enough with just their own primary, with the possible exception of Ritualists.

If you could have it for both primary and secondary attribute then it wouldn't be a primary attribute now would it? Think about how annoyingly stupid this idea is and I think you'll realise that posting it was a mistake.

not signed, seriosuly if u have trouble with builds go to this: www.pvxwiki.com

well if ANET let this happen , almost every single elite/non-elite that tied into primary professions would get nerfed. /notsigned

it may work if you can only spec into the attribute for the skill but dont get the benefit of that att, so you can add points to say soul reaping as an ele for the skills but you dont get energy for each death etc.

What you're suggesting would make the game imbalanced. /notsigned. I'm sorry, but if you're not happy with the warriors primary attribute, either learn to play warriors better, or choose a different profession.
Try this:
[W-Rt HM Allround PvE build;OQgTEZKXH6qwvYqZHsvQVEn8iB]
(does GWBBcode work here?)
you can replace Whirlwind attack with Pain Inverter or Vanguard Assassin Support if you want to. works great for me.

well it's called a primary attribute for a reason, but I would think that perhaps being able to put, say, 3 ranks into your second primary wouldn't be too horribly broken (and you don't get to use a rune), so you could go 12/12/3 for instance.
It wouldn't be too broken:
-3% armour penetration
-1 less energy for a few skills (!)
-10 points of healing when targeting an ally with a spell
-10% faster casting of spells
-9 extra energy (!!)
-3 energy per kill (!!!)
-3% better crit chance, 1 extra energy when you crit (!)
-minions/spirits are slightly stronger
-1 extra energy per shout
-3 health & 1 energy when an enchantment ends on you
the physical classes (warriors, ranger, dervish, assassin & paragon) could benefit from the other physical classes abilities. Spending less energy, getting some back or doing more damage doesn't really hurt. The spell casting classes would probably go with energy storage or soul reaping, cause 3 energy per kill or 9 extra energy total would be very nice. Still probably rediculously overpowered and not likely to happen though. I think Expertise & Critical Strikes are nice, Energy Storage is really nice and Soul Reaping is just (0.0).
And as others have started, yeah, there's plenty of good stuff for warriors to run in hard mode.

No offence or anything but if you don't have any remote idea about the game don't make serious game changing suggestions. Besides, it's way way too late to change core game functions.

If you could only have 5 or less into another profesion maybe I'd be ok.
My personal pet peeve is how the skills and attributes panel. The names should switch between alphabetical or based on primary first... plus it would be very useful for a preview feature at other levels like if using Signet of Illusions I don't want to have keep adding 12 points to an attribute to preview what skills will be at 12.

Use search next time. That post was made recently, and just on page 2 of the forum. If yuo want an attribute that is the primary of another class, then you made the wrong character. There is a reason the game was designed the way it is, and this would destroy balance. Why not ask for armor from a secondary too, that way a Mo/W can wear 80+20AL armor. This is an idea based on being bad at the game. Learn how to use your character or make a new one that does what you want.
