I put the .zip into my gw folder where I installed it to. Extracted it to the same folder and played. Some armors looked nicer while others looked shoddy still. I had max graphics on and am using an Intel 2.2GhZ processor, and an Nvidia GeForce 7100/650i Graphics card.
*the q is: how do I make all armors look high-def?

And your question is?
But seriously, if I recall, all you need to do is have the files (a dll and an ini?) in the same folder as your gw.exe - don't forget to edit the ini to disable those stupid sounds.

yeah, it turns out that after extracting you have to copy them out of the file folder.

You have to download all the high-quality armors. Meaning you zone outside with a person of every single armor type (to see & download the high-quality picture) or you use the -image command; there is more detail on the official wiki.
