So, what's up with Guild Wars?

Hey all! Most of you probably don't remember me, but I was a pretty prolific poster around here about a year ago. I quit guild wars a while back, but am looking to rejoin the fun. Can anyone tell me what has been going on for the last 8 months? I read the game updates, but those don't help that much.

So what are the new pve/pvp metas? farming spots? items? things to do?

You can now do the same stuff you already did and if you did it often enough you get a bag for it.

Plus there is now a pet trainer, also an errant dolyak with an ascalonian refugee who gives odd gifts for collectibles.

a bag? what kinda bags are we talking about?

I recently started playing again after a 3-month break, a lot shorter than yours, but here's what I did to get back into stuff:

- I read all past updates I missed
- I went through PvX to see what builds are popular now and then went on obs for a few hours to see the actually correct builds being used.
- Messed around in PvE to adjust my favourite team builds (some lolwut skill changes happened)

April 23 update contains the most notable PvE differences imo.

You will not be able to join a team in any area unless you are a Perma sin, or a RoJ monk.

The current farms are UW-Speed Clears, FoW-Speed Clears.

April update brought us a pokemon style "catch them all" Zoo, where you feel compelled to fill with all of GWs pets.

We have a stylist where you can pay real money to change your ingame chars appearence, waste imo.

We now have Zaishen Dailies, which change every day. 1 quest is to do a mission and you get bonus' for completetion in hardmode + doing the mission bonus. The other is a bounty to kill a boss somewhere in GW. And the other is a repeatable PVP challange (win 3 ranked GVGs etc..)

These quests reward Zaishen Coins, which are non-tradeable but can be used to acquire "Equipment bags" which are used to hold your armor, weapons etc.

There are other things to trade in for but i don't think anyone does.

Doing a zquest will award you X amount of Bronze Zcoins, which you then trade up to Silver, which when you got enough silver, can trade upto Gold, which finally then when you save up enough gold, you can trade in for an extra bag.

Oh and finally we can purchase upto 4 extra storage window panes, and you can get your free 1 storage window pane up until the 31st of may i think, so hurry!

Rofl, better than when i quit, when you had to be a r10 ursan to do anything. At least I can play perma sin and Roj monks without grinding lol

I don't even have an RoJ monk, and the only time I ever run a Permasin is solo or doing UWSC, and I never have ANY trouble with a group. I guess your guild sucks.

No my guild is great, just different time zones, i can only catch in on the urgoz on weekends at my time 2-4am. But i won't leave because i like the people.

And i mean for UW, or FoW. I don't think ive ever seen "GLF Ele" or "GLF War" when camping in ToA.

so what you're saying is that your situation is unique and not exactly a rule or something that would pretty much apply to everyone even though you tried to make it sound that way in your original post? okay.

*shrug* I dunno, I just don't see the point in playing if you've got to PUG to get real people in your group. meh.

I read this and I thought to myself on how we hadn't gotten a real skill update in ages, thus not really having an idea what the April update could have brought.

I liked Evil Empire best. "Rolling down Rodeo" was a wet dream for me.

OT: yeah, a few skill changes, Ursan was nerfed, and pve skill grind was lowered with the minimums being raised. Other than that, welcome back.
