Town suggestion

Maybe it's just my ignorance, but I always find it a little frustrating to click on a merchant or xunlai chest in a very heavily populated town.
I usually hold down Ctrl (or is it alt?) to find them, but it lights up every player character in the area as well. If you try to click on the merchant, you often end up clicking on a player character as well. Sometimes as the hundreds of people huddled around the merchant or chest stream in and out, the position of the merchant tag jumps around, making it a pain to hit.
Don't know if this has been addressed and I am just ignorant to it, or if everyone struggles with it. Not a big issue in lightly occupied places. Maybe having a different key to highlight NPCs as opposed to players would work?

Ctrl lights up all people and Alt lights up Npc's.. just push R and run in the direction of the guy. it makes it easier

Ctrl is not your friend. Alt is what you want, but you need to sometimes get closer unless you have incredible hand-eye coordination.
My only issue is with places like GToB, where they added the ziashen flags way too close together, and the zaishen coin traders way too close together. Even if you successfully click on the correct npc, your toon doesn't seem to know how to climb over the other players or the flagstand that's in the way without you walking your character around to face the npc.

@footballfan, not everyone has autorun bound to a key. I have my skills bound to the qwer/asdf keys and clicking is the only way I get around.

Get close to your chosen NPC, then press V, then space.
EDIT: Oh, i missunderstood, i thought you meant something else.
I understand, just hold alt and look for the guy, it can take ages in a place like kaineng though >.<
Yeah that thing where you click a flag or something, and your char is running side to side.

u can always switch to a lower populated distict if it proves so overwhelmingly frustrating ;-)

I don't think you should have to switch districts just to get at the chest or merchant without a fuss, but that's just me.
I tend to highlight the NPC I want with alt and try to catch it with my mouse. It's like a game within a game. Very challenging in Kamadan D1 these days. :P

Lord Of Blame
They could just add some buttons in the party window by the NM/HM icons. One for merchant and one for the chest. Then all you have to do is click the button and your character runs to it. Seems like a very simple solution that will never be implemented.
Sword Hammer Axe
I think places like Gate of Torment are annoying too since NPC's are so far away that alt isn't enough!
Anyways I actually have a suggestion:
Like the channel where you have players, heroes and henchmen to search for add one for NPC's. Might be very handy

Use alt and v. Otherwise stop with the QQ
headlesshobbs
I don't hardly use click to move/attack anymore so I'll just highlight till I get what I'm looking for and then hit spacebar. Saves on some of the problems I had earlier when I was attacking in JQ and instead ran the other way.

The problem is that Ctrl and Alt do not exclude the other labels from showing.
Even if you hold Alt, if you move the mouse over a crowd, their labels will appear, and that should happen only when you hold no key.
While hodling Ctrl, ONLY the lavels that Ctrl shows should appear, and same for Alt.
A third one should be added to show only created creatures like minions and spirits.
