Limited Town Firework
Namiren
I dunno if this has been suggested before, but I know that somebody posted that he is NERVOUS , coz every moment we have a firework displayed. Maybe ANet should LIMIT it, so, for example, you can use only 1 firework in an hour. So: You use a firework, it goes for 10 mins (if I know well) then you have to wait 1 hour to use another one.
Hmm?
Hmm?

May I just ask for clarification as to why?....It's not like it's going to keep you from finding your way around the town. It's just a few flashes. I guess if your epileptic it could be a problem, But as far as I know...you shouldn't be looking at the flashes when you hit something either then.

I don't see this thread ending any better. But I'll leave it open for now.

If they could add it to the post-fx settings, like drunk-effect it would be great. I can then just turn off sounds and post fx when I need to spend a lot of time in a town (i.e. when i'm selling).

So if it is a problem that you are seeing too many Fireworks in towns, then making a cap on the number each person can use will not fix it. Consider the number of people who can be in a town at the same time, and possibly all wanting to use a Disco Ball. Would also make it a major annoyance for people just wanting to get their title points.
So, why is it a problem anyway?

this is true its no big deal , wouldnt be worth the time of anet

I'm a layman, but I don't think they can. As far as I can tell, drunkenness just runs what the game is already processing through a graphical filter, whereas the fireworks are actually creating new objects.

I disagree MagmaRed. First of all, disco balls are still not that common. Plus if people HAVE to use them for there title, they can always go to there Guild Hall or to some obscure town (magamma shade).
Anyway, I kinda like this idea. A nice balance between outright removal and the seizure show every major town currently is.

Make disco balls a guildhall only item.
Problem solved.
Problem solved.

I never even notice the fireworks. And you know, there's always asia japanese and euro french districts, where nobody goes.

IT is Euro russian. There are quite some French.
But when a neightbour bothers you, the answer is not moving. Is calling the police, then suing, then voodoo.

And I don't think capping one person's usage of fireworks per day would do anything except make people upset.

Well, that thread from Empress was just a lot of screaming and moaning because someone doesn't like sparkles. This thread's addressing it as a legitimate health concern, and I can see it that way. Epileptics could definitely have a hard time with this. I used to babysit a kid that had it, and his parents never put up Christmas lights because the blinky ones gave him small panic attacks. He can't stand fireworks IRL, either.
Leaving the town or switching districts isn't always a solution either. What if they're trying to find a group in a one-district mission area, or selling things in Kamadan?
(Though for the sake of people like me who love setting off and seeing fireworks, I hope they come up with a toggleable solution.)

I do agree that toggling it would be the best. I like fireworks, but they do lag up my computer sometimes. I mean, crowded districts give me enough of a load time, but add tons of fireworks to that... ><
