Difference between Core and Prophecies skill pack
chromebison
so i own prophecies and nightfall and just bought the prophecies skill pack. now im wondering if i should of got the core one instead. can anyone tell me the difference between these or is there none since i own prophecies?
Hanging Man
core just means that the skills are available in any of the campaigns. So there are skills you can only get from one campaign but core means you don't have to specifically own the campaign to get the skill.

thx for the reply. so does the core pack have all the core skills from all three campaigns? if so, why are there individual campaign skill packs?
Kook~NBK~
becaue individual skill packs come with the core skills + the campaign specific skills

the 6 core classes have designated "core" skills, you can see them on wiki or when you sort in-game by campaign. Around the release of factions the devs split the original game's skills up into "prophecies" campaign and "core" skills.

i think i got it now. there are core skills that are in all 3 campaigns which can be unlocked with the core pack, but there are also skills that are campaign specific which can be unlocked with a campaign specific pack?

So yeah, each Campaing has few core elite and normal skills. so that mean you can get those skills from each campaing ingame.
For specific skill packs. you unclock all skills for one campaing. including core ones.

Core skills are the same for every campaign. You do not get different ones with a different skill pack. For example, the monk skill Aegis will be included in Core Skill Pack, Prophecies Skill Pack, Factions Skill Pack & Nightfall Skill Pack.

Unless I'm reading this incorrectly, this statement is not correct. I bought the Proph, Factions, NF, and EOTN skill packs (thinking the core would be included) and I still had to unlock approximately 37 "core" skills.

A campaign skill pack contains only the skills that are unique to that particular campaign. The core skill pack contains only the skills that are found in every campaign.
So, to unlock all possible skills that a skill trainer can offer in, say, Prophecies, you need the core pack plus the Prophecies pack. If you add another campaign to the account later, the core skills will already be unlocked because of the core pack. You would still need to buy the pack for that campaign to unlock the unique skills.
