LAN Based PvP

I know this is not likely to be implemented but regardless it is something I would love to see (mayhaps in GW2).
The ability to play Guild Wars (obviously only in PvP modes) in a LAN environment without internet access.
All the stuff based around faction and the chest at the end of halls is missing and all the players have UAX.
It would be great to be able to play some TA or GvG in a LAN environment where you can see the people you are playing with/against and I tend to find makes competitive gaming more fun (maybe I am biased since I run a LAN)
Obviously this would require a dedicated server at the LAN ala Source games but I think it would be feasible.
How did they do this kind of thing at GWWC/GWFC/PAX, Did they just have a high speed connection?

This is actually a sweet idea. Though as said, unfortunately most likely won't be implemented. Kudos though.

it's not a bad idea for making the pvp aspect of gw more popular. i guess, this could be realised by developing a dedicated server and a "spawn" version (diablo 1 had one) with limited access to the game's elements and the game itself. anet could make money by selling a 30-day dedicated server and e.g. 64 "spawn" versions (which expire too).

The rules are in the Server, the client it's just the controls to move the character.
So this would require a server players could run themselves via lan.
And that could be used via Internet, meaning 'free PvP'. So... sorry, but no. All players have used trial keys or paid accounts.

Also, the characters are stored on the server as well. You'd have to contact the server to get all your character data.

Yeah, like with Diablo II a way to save other characters outside the official servers would be needed too.

As stated before, all of our information i stored on the servers. And it's not like they're going to release server codes, that just makes the game vulnerable to pirating.
