Do you ever check your friends list? Not on the list = don't trust it. Honesty though I don't even loan 1000g without 20 questions.

Not as unlikely or improbable as you may think.
If any of my friends, that I would lend something valuable too, said that to me I'd know it wasn't them, or it'd make me look closely and realise it wasn't. Simply because my friend don't speak like that. Plus, but perhaps only for me, my trusted friends are in my guild, so it's kinda damn obvious!

I'll be honest, I've nearly traded with the wrong person as a result of near identical names (or cos their names were really really hard to spell). As a result I always copy paste the person's name. Always. Copy Paste doesn't get it wrong.
