Rits need Call to the Spirit Realm
Giga_Gaia
When I first saw the skill from Togo in the BMP, the first thing that came up in my mind was: why don't Ritualists have this as their Sunspear PvE skill instead of Vampirism? Since I couldn't find a thread about this, I might as well start one.
If you compare the other classes' SS PvE skills, Necro's get Necrosis, Mesmers get Cry of Pain, Sins have Critical Agility, Dervs get Eternal Aura, and even Paragons have "There's Nothing to Fear!". Vampirism, by comparison, just plain sucks. I mean, it's a carbon copy of Bloodsong, but with lower damage and a higher energy cost. So what's the point?
Granted some of the other SS skills are not that great but still, Rits are by far the worst off profession to play right now. It might not be much but it's still something, and I'd imagine it would be easier to implement than buffing other Rit stuff like SP without overkilling it.

[[Dragon Empire Rage] please.
No, but Call to the Spirit Realm would be an awesome PvE skill, especially with Summon Spirits. Would it by itself breathe new life into Rits? Probably not, but it would make a spirit bomber a lot stronger.

This and draw spirits would be overpowered. PvE only.

If Anet won't bother giving us (speaking as a Rit here) a half-decent primary then at least give us this. It'll be fun, and maybe people other than obsessive Rit lovers will play them.

Damage-spirit spam would still suck outside solo missions.

They could add PvE skills to Prophecies as Shinning Blade skills. This could be the ritualist one.
Rangers could use the "Recover traps" I suggested in the "Create a skill" thread.
Warriors a skill to draw attention over them (making all other allies untargetable for 1..3 seconds)
Assassins a skill to remove attention from them.
Monks skill to make Divine Favor affect other spells that affect allies from professions.
The rest don't need much more things, but I'm sure there could be ideas.
Since there are no titles and I don't think many people would like a Shinning Blade title track, they could be either unlinked or linked to primary attributes.

Actually, if they did turn this into the Sunspear skill, I probably would go make a rit.

I think making any spirit is calling to the spirit realm, but this would make a good idea for pve. If Togo could master it, why not the rest of us?

Oh baby!
Come to papa!
Still, it doesn't really make the ritualist viable.
So ... /meh.

A skill that summons 3 spirits would have to be an elite in my book.
This+Signet of Ghostly Might = Overpowered

You're still summoning spirits to deal damage. It's still fairly meh.

It's nowhere near being overpowered given what you are missing out on!
Tenebrae
Too many damage , maybe rise the spirit lvl in progression 2.... 12. And lower damage to 5.....15 . Btw , almost anything would be better than vampirism blerf .... or make vampirism heal ( or hp gain ) party members on earshot.
Anyway, dont think theyre gonna change that skill :/

Surely there are other much more powerful skills than summoning 3 spirits simultaneously (they die to any sort of aoe anyways). It would be powerful yes, but it wouldn't break the ritualist or the so-called "PvE meta". I think we can all agree that rits need some love right? Yeah the level/damage of the spirits would need to be scaled of course...
Yeah, after reading through the Buff to SP thread, I think that this idea would (should? I don't know) be faster than thinking up ways to buff the rit w/o breaking it. Besides, Vampirism sucks....

I'm for as many buffs to the Ritualist as possible.

This would be a fun addition.
While they are at it, they can make PvE editions of each binding ritual, cuz honestly, nothing sucks more in HM than taking 15 seconds to set up your spirits just to see them ALL DIE by a freaking triple chop from a destroyer.

(I also dislike Technobabble for giving bosses special treatment apart from simply being a stronger version of the regular creature, although admittedly there is some precedent.)
On the main topic: I've both played and seen effective damage spirit spammers outside of solo play - the Summon Spirits/Painful Bond/Ghostly Might combo with the rest of the bar filled with damaging spirits is actually surprisingly effective, and for missions that involve long battles in a single location, even the hero version can be useful (fighting NOX, for instance). Call to the Spirit Realm would be a significant boost, but, as upier points out, it's still not spamming long-recharge skills (PvE or otherwise) every few seconds with AP.

I play as a Rit for my main, and I can tell that this skill would be amazing to add to my spirit spam build I would also miss my vamp spirit. The three spirits and summon skill i use deal enough damage as long as they all hit one target. I would like the idea if call to the spirit realm made your spirits attack one target the same way Varesh can make the demons all target one thing. I would rather add that to my build than three more that would take away from my elite since this would have to be an elite.

Small side note, but I kinda wish they'd have given you the skills each character had when you beat a mission. Like if you beat Turai's mission, you'd get to keep the "FOR ELONA!" shout and Giant Stomp as PvE warrior skills, and as said, let you keep call to the spirit realm and dragon empire rage as a rit pve only skill.
Sauls skills would be cool to, the form up and advance and banner of the unseen, and signet of the unseen. >_>... and spectral agony.... the joy of making char burninate with spectral....
Gwens skills could be fun to, but kinda weak....

While I love playing my rit, I'm inclined to think that this is a bit OP.

While I agree that Call to the Spirit Realm would be cool, I'd like to point out, you missed the point about Vampirism, which is one of my favorite rit spells.
Bloodsong steals health from a foe. Vampirism steals health from a foe, but instead of using that health to heal the spirit, it uses that health to heal YOU. Big, big difference. Think of it as a combination of bloodsong and and health regeneration buff for you.
I also like it, because I can use it as a spirit spell for characters who have ritualist as a second profession, without putting a single point into any ritualist attribute.
You're right about Necrosis and Cry of Pain being powerful. However, you don't need to be a Necro Primary or a Mesmer Primary to use it, nor do you need to put points in any necro or mesmer skill. Even if you need a mesmer curse to use it, you can use Web of Disruption, which has no attribute associated with it.
Half of the Sunspear skills, like many EotN skills, are a way of giving skills from different professions to help balance out a build.
The other half of course, depend on a primary attribute from a class to be truly useful, like the paragon skill for example.
The truly underpowered Sunspear skills are Intensity and Seed of Life, as far as I'm concerned.
Still, overall I do agree with the idea of the thread, though I'd sorely miss vampirism as well.

Ask and you shall receive, Signet of Spirits is now Call to the spirit realm. Or at least its equivalent. Sorta nice as an elite but i still like my old spirit spamm build.

I saw the change to Signet of Spirits and thought, OMG.
And then I heard Yoda speaking to me.
And I'm happy about it! I wasn't too keen on losing vampirism, I'm going to have to give up my Elite slot to use it, and it's PVE-only.
Now if only they could make Signet of Spirits useful in PVP too.

Essentially, this idea has been implemented.
