After playing Prophecies nearly since release a few years back and thoroughly enjoying EotN, I finally decided to pick Nightfall up from my local Future Shop last Saturday and try out the Paragon/Dervish.
I added the CDKey that came with my copy of GW:NF and it began to give me a 10 hour countdown stating that the CDKey I entered is just a trial key. Naturally, I checked the game box again to make sure I hadn't entered one of those trial keys they provide you with for numerous games.. it was indeed the proper CDKey
I fired off an e-mail to NCSoft support and within a day or so they replied saying my ticket's been escalated. I have not yet heard back. Here's a copy of the e-mail I sent them via their website:
"Hi there,
This afternoon I went to my local Future Shop and purchased a copy of Guild Wars: Nightfall. My acccount already has access to Prophecies + EotN and I've been playing the game nearly since release a few years back. When I went to add the NF CDkey, it said that it is a trial key and began to give me a 10 hour countdown. Did I just get a wrong CDKey? Should I return to Future Shop and exchange my copy for another? The CDKey that came with my copy is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards"
Recently realizing that Future Shop doesn't even accept returns or exchanges on software that's been opened, I'm thinking I'm kind of screwed. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Should I buy a new copy or wait it out for their 'escalated' response?
Edit: Typos
Anybody had this happen to them?

You've done the best thing that you can do; emailed support.
Sometimes it takes a while for them to respond, for whatever reason. Maybe they're unsure themselves. Give it time and patience and hopefully they will be able to sort out your issue.
If it turns out that the key is only a trial one then you can take the product back, no matter their returns policy, as they've sold you a falsely described product.
Good luck.

I had the same thing when I started playing Nightfall.
What happened was that the trial key was added to my regular account. Completely useless trial key, of course, since by that point I had all three campaigns on my account. Once the timer ran out, nothing happened. It was just a poor choice on ArenaNet's part to automatically add the trial key (not only was it worthless to me, but I could have given it to someone who hadn't played before).
I'd take a look at what keys are on your account. Log in, choose Edit Account, then Manage Access Keys. Make sure that you have "Guild Wars Nightfall" as one of the keys in the upper section (the trial is probably going to be listed below).

Did you check which keys are on your account under edit account/manage keys from the character select screen. As I remember, some versions of the game came with automatic trials. For instance, even though I have never entered a trial key, my account has all three 14 hr trials on it.
It may be that you do have the full version of nightfall but the key included trials for campaigns you already have. If nightfall is listed in the upper window of the manage keys screen you're good to go. If that is the case, no big deal, the count down doesn't actually mean anything.
Edit: I see some one beat me - sorry for the double info.

Thanks for your quick replies. I just checked under the Manage Access Keys section of my account and here is what I have:
Top Section:
Guild Wars Prophecies
Guild Wars Eye of the North
Bottom Section:
Guild Wars Starter Pack (10 hours good for 14 days)
As a side note, I just realized that I can also create characters from GW: Factions. I do not own the aforementioned campaign. So not only is this a trial key, it's an introductory trial key to all GW campaigns. X_X

You may want to update your support ticket with this info -- which would also help bump it up. It sounds like support is going to be the best approach to getting this resolved, unfortunately (and I say "unfortunately" because they're being slow).
Edit to add:
Although now that I think about it, I don't recall if the normal Nightfall key showed up before the trial key ran out. So you may still be in the situation I described earlier with the trial key applied, and once that runs out it will automagically switch to the full key.

I just updated my support ticket with a direct link to this thread. Hopefully all will be figured out soon.
Nkuvu thanks for sharing your past experience with this issue. I will definitely keep playing my new Dervish until my time runs out & maybe it will switch me over to the full key.
Cheers

I'll point out that I was not the only one to have this happen -- there was a fair bit of "WTF" happening in alliance chat (and on the forums).
But hope it all works out for you soon -- either switching automagically to the full key, or support getting you a full key.

did you scratch the card and add that cd key, or did you just add the cd key provided on the piece of paper?
Mr. G
Yeah in an attempt to confuse scammers Anet produced 17 types of serial, from scratching the back of a card to Beating a pirate at fencing on top of the arc de triomphe.
But seriously check all your numbers again to make sure you havn't put in a code that isnt your main serial.
They provide so many in a box these days...

I did indeed scratch the back of the card and got the key from there. I am aware of all the trial CDKeys as they came with the EotN game box as well and quadruple-checked to make sure that I added the supposedly 'correct' GW:NF CDKey.
