Ok, filefront is up and running links are here and in the first post, enjoy!
File Front Links:May GvG mAT Part 1 | May GvG mAT Part 2 | May GvG mAT Part 3
I don't really want to degrade the integrity of myself or the video and have Guild Wars stuff be associated with that kind of advertising... espcially when links to these videos/threads get published on the GuildWar.com website...
2009 May mAT Final Video [StS] v [cry]

As noted before...
life takes hard corners sometimes, I am thankful the panel I spoke too were sympathetic... next month, again depending on the child birth, I will make the attempt again for the post game show.

Unfortunately due to a medical emergency this past weekend, the post game show will not be made... so I am sorry for hyping it up to this point. But due to those events happening, I just wont be able to make the post game video and release it with decent quality. I would have coverted the builds more in depth, Insane being left alone as a solo healer, the constant spliting pressure of [cry], along with other insight with a panel of Guild Wars GvG experts. So sorry for not being able to do that...

The third video appears to be corrupted. It gets to 6:39 before freezing and is unable to continue beyond this point.
I've tried downloading again, to no avail.
Still, the rest of it is very good and helps me gain an insight as to what actually goes on in GvG matches - GvG being a format I'm not very familiar with.

Great job, Saber Wolf

Awesome work, Sabre Wolf. Loved the video.
You're getting better with each MAT - it's looking very polished now. Thanks for your efforts!
BTW - I'd second the post earlier about distribution via Bit Torrent. Might be worth looking into it. I'm sure plenty of people in the community are willing to seed - it's the least we can do after the work you put in!

mmmm, interseting... I will have to look into that throughout the month, thank you.
As for the work that goes in... This weekend the video took me about 12 hours to make... and i didn't even get to the post game show stuff... which would have been another 4 hours of work... so I am very greatful for all the appreciation you all show.

Even though you might not like YouTube, it's recognizable that most people will be lazy and not bother to download the video. If you want to get your video out to the most users possible, you need to make YouTube an option. I'd say it'd increase the number of viewers by at least 100%.
The large amount of users that would actually download the video would be people who are extremely interested in the PvP aspect, and your video isn't catered towards that (discussion of tactics), at least from what I've seen in the video. Therefore, a large proportion of the audience would value convenience over quality.

Hello everyone this is Sabre Wolf with the May 2009 mAT Final Video!
This video features a new show open, extended pregame show and the match itself! The video has been broken into three parts to limit the size of the files. Please view in order 1-3! I'm sorry about your emergency, but kudos to you for putting out the video despite all that. I hope things are okay and improve for you on that front.

Regina, I'll ask here rather than on your wikitalkpage: can Anet provide a little webspace for Sabre Wolf's video? Or is it impossible due to your policy?
(can't watch the videos yet, too much work ) |
Almost all companies I know of have this stand on this issue, so ANET are not the only ones. They have to watch out for the company's security and integrity first. Not that my videos would be a risk persay, but I fall under the "3rd party" umbrella and therefore the line must be drawn, and I accept that. I am happy that ANET does post links to these threads on their www.GuildWars.com website as Community News. But that is about as close to "hosting" as I will get from them, which is understandable and ok with me.
But I will continue working on other solutions and hosting throughout the month to improve these mAT Vids.

I believe that for next month we can easily share it with torrent. They'd be very little work for you and it'd spread faster. What do you think?
Wow, great job! The quality of this reports are increasingly amazing! The intro and transitions are flawlessly performed, and the prematch was very well done and informative. Its a shame you couldn't do the post-match, because I'm sure it would have been really great. But there is always next month I guess xD
And if you don't mind, a couple suggestions (as a player almost completely GvG ignorant). In the prematch, when you mention the guilds that both finalists have faced to reach the final, could you add a little insight on them? I know some of the names, but I'd be nice to know if some of those guilds were previous gold or silver trims, if they were guesting some important players or if they recently formed or reformed. It would also be a good way to comment briefly on the rest of the tourney, if two guilds fighted a very close match or radically changed its build for example, so we could have a feeling on which one of the two finalists had a harder time getting there.
And during the game, I also thought you could show on the top left corner of the screen the morale counter, which I think gives a good overview on who is dominating the field at the moment (for example in this match, the first turnover for StS was when their flagger failed somehow to cap and Cry got a free morale boost).
I also agree with some above poster in that maybe aiming for Youtube would be a better way to get your reports out to the people, since you did a very great job here and it's a shame that some people will miss it just for being lazy to download. However, I thing that the best solution would be to youtube it and upload it at high res somewhere else, so if we wanna watch it at good definition we have the means too.
Very good job, and thanks for the effort!

I thought about adding the ladder rank to the teams in the "Road to the Playoffs"... not sure why I removed them.
The only thing about youtube though... is if/when i did/do the post game show.... and posted the videos on youtube... due to length requirements... the videos would have to be broken into FIVE parts... not sure if that would be an issue with everyone to watch or not. But the way matches like this go (20 minutes or more) I cant crunch it into 2 vids of action and I would have to break it into 3 parts and have 2 extra parts for the pre/post games portions.
For the other matches leading up to the Final... in perfect world, and if I did this for a living (wink wink), I would look at ALL the previous matches and include some insight from them leading to the final... and I would included like a highlight from each one and maybe even a "Play of the Night". Then these videos would be 100 times better with tons of more content and insight then they have now. However... to be realistic, this is a "hobby" outside of real life/work, so its a little out of my range of ability to do all that with the time i have available. But if i had all that time, I would love to do it!
