Metalic Black. Metalic white.

Heres a question for the dye experts:
If I add a silver dye to my armor, it will give the armor a 'shiny' metalic effect. If I then added 3-4 Vials of black/white dye, would the metalic effect remian?
So I would end up with a shiny bright white colour, or a shiny dark black.
I would try this out myself but.. .you know, monies.

What armor? I don't think cloth or leather armor can get a metallic effect, only 'metal' armor does (go figure).

Yeah I think on leather armour adding a silver kinda 'waters down' the colour.

dont mix silver and black or white >.>

Yah what kind of armor?
sanguineum
On mesmer armour it added a little more reflection (silky, not metallic)m any patterning on the fabric showed up more and the colours were subtler.

you can use the preview window to preview the mixture. ask a good buddy to borrow a couple dyes ;-)

Just to add, on my mesmer silver did add an effect like sanguineum mentioned above, although I didn't really care for it over just using the base colors alone.
And the problem with the preview is the armor never looks exactly like it will in the actual game. This is apparently due to the lighting effect in the various outposts and explorable areas never matches the lighting effect used in the preview? I've wasted quite a bit of dye only to find that what looked great in the preview window doesn't look so great in the actual game.

Mixing dyes to any armor only affects the color of the ending result, not the texture.

One more thing, O.P. You specifically asked
Know that unless you mix the dyes together on the preview window, any dye you apply OVERRIDES previous dyeings.
But you probably already knew that ;-)

Hmmm... so it seems really up in the air then. The actual armour I had in mind was the vabbian/Fow ninja combo people do for their sins. But then I was thinking about how boring it was that everyone dyed it black, so wanted a twist for mine- thinking that if it was shiny and 'metalic' black itd look so much nicer. And that got me to thinking about 'metalic' white, because on some pieces of my mesmers armor (elite enchanters, for instance) I thought that might look really flashy, too...
