Why is Kamadan THE marketplace in Guild Wars?
Dante the Warlord
Heres the way Kamadan became the biggest trading port. After every campaign was released the port became the biggest trading spot. First it was LA, than KC, and finally Kamadan. The only reason Kamadan became the biggest one was because NF was the most recent campaign released. Had GW:EN had its own portable city, that would have been the next "big" city.

When Nightfall came out everyone obviously was playing nightfall and it was the biggest trading place by default since it was the closest place to zone and more convenient.

Because Kamadan and Spamadan rhymes nicely.

I think the issue has been cleared up by the above, however some of the material traders etc are all the way on the other side of the town, if i want to sort out materials/dyes/runes/whatever i got to EOTN, everything's close-by and easy to get to, but when it comes to actually buying/selling it has to be Spamadan US D1.

lol, i remember when droks used to be the packed marketplace. crazy that the place is empty and forgotten now. and yeah, it's kamadan because that is the major port of the last campaign that came out, simple. people trade in LA too, although that's about half of Kama's commerce. Kaineng has really low trading compared to LA and Kama.

Before factions it was LA. After factions it was Kaineng. After Nightfall it is Kamadan.
EOTN is not an expansion, so.. But I remember the devs saying they built eye of the north [outpost] with the purpose of being the next trade place. |
EOTN is the ONLY expansion. The rest were separate yet joined games. Besides, kamadan is perfect for markets.
