Do as many as you feel like, leave when you want.

A lot of people reccomend lvl 6-7 as the point to leave though. Be sure to gather a few skills while you're their.

Also, another character?

Yeah, wait until you're level 7 or so before leaving pre-searing. Also, find a good guild that will help you with all the questions. You'll get less grief that way and you'll have more fun in game playing with others.*

*I said GOOD guild.

First time through the game I would try all the missions and explore the map as much as you can.

Bit late now but I would also try out all secondary classes before choosing one, that way you get to see them all and find what you like and what works best with necro.
This helps when your deciding on future characters.

I would move on at lvl 6 or 7 before it gets too time consuming to level up

Please join a good guild. There are many that advertise in the beginning areas of the game. It costs you nothing to join, and if you don't like it you can leave at any time. This will save on all the very nooby basic questions you've been asking. I don't want to be mean, but you've seriously asked questions that 5 seconds in a decent guild you will know the answer to.

It depends solely on your gameplay style. My war got out of pre when he was lvl 3 and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend to get the hell out of there when you start to get bored, forget about your lvl.

To leave a guild, press "G" Click on the icon next to your name, and make the appropriate selection.

As for what attributes to use for damage on a Necro, read the descriptions of hte various skills you will obtain as you're questing your way through the game.

Also, the Wikis have good discriptions of all the professions & information on each attribute. To quickly get to the official wiki, press F10 when in game and click on a link listed under quests, recently encountered skills, recently visited locations, or whatever. from there, you can navigate the wiki at your leisure.

I honestly think your playing the wrong game mate. GW isnt about massive DPS or Level grinding.

I'd recomend that you stayed in pre for a time. Make sure you get to all of the outposts (there is 4 + ascalon) and explore the exploreable areas so you don't miss any of the quests that gives you a pretty easy reward. As a bonus you also gain experience as a player, that will be needed later in game.
Another reason for staying in pre a while is because it has one of the nicest enviroments in game (in my opinion ), and it is really the most pleasant enviroment you'll experience for a while after leaving pre.

As for the damage questions, I'd suggest you take a look at your skills, and se which ones makes the most damage and which ones that works great togheter.
If you want futher information about such matters, the wiki is a great resource: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/N

Necro/Mesmers are x10 better for arcane echo to echo Spiteful spirit. N/Mo were only /Mo for the Heal area and stuff to heal their minions. That is horrible now since there are way better skills.

I've only had one prophecies character, my monk..which i've beaten most of the game with. My others are from factions because i wanted quick attributes and access to the rest of the game. Anyhow, leaving pre-searing
is sort of a personal decision. The only reason people stay there is for an extremely time consuming title (Legendary Defender Of Ascalon) or they just have a perma pre character b/c they like to be there. Seeing as most experienced characters would not reccomend this title to beginners..you should leave when you feel you've gotten all of the experience and skills you can get out of being in pre.

As for your other questions..i've found that the necro curses attribute holds enough capabilities to keep anyone satisfied. Death magic is mostly for minions which i feel can be better micromanaged by heroes. Blood magic is a fun alternative as well.In particular, the well magics of necromancer are very helpful. As you get more experienced you'll see that most necromancers are fond of curses rather than the other types of magic. I don't want to scare you off from these other types of magic so try all of them.

You can pm me in game if you have any questions or want further help.
