Windows 7 and GW

I honestly doubt It would offer much of a change, probably around the same as Windows Vista. Thats what I have found. But it ran good as always. Those extra 30 fps gained seem a little substantial for a operating system change, likely a updated driver he installed in the process.
I can never understand why anyone would want to make a test build their primary operating system, no matter how stable it is. It's just common sense.

I've found that the test builds of Windows 7 have been far more stable with my system and Vista and even XP.
As said above, Guild Wars will run absolutely fine, if you do run into a, "Can't access the data archive" message, just right click your Icon and Run as Administrator, which seems to have solved the problem for me.

Nope, none of the drivers have been updated from Vista. Always make sure they're updated. GW did run worse in Window than on Vista though. At least when it was in Beta, have only run it in fullscreen since I got RC1

Should be a service pack imo.
Naah, they're better off releasing it as a new OS. No matter how many SP's the release for Vista, people will always call it shit, because it started out as shit. It's not that bad anymore, but people who haven't tried it, will still think so, and therefore not buy it, just because a new SP has been released

Certainly looks promising. Though, I wish they took the time to fix Windows Vista, Id just hate to spend 150$ on all my PC's to wipe them of vista.

You have a valid point. Its all about restoring microsoft's image, by "rebranding Windows Vista." As that's the reason, Windows 7 is being rushed to production.

Heh, yea. Vista has gotten better, but still nowhere near as good as it was supposed to be. And I'm actually pretty surprised that, while being rushed, W7 looks and feels as good as it does. Looking forward to getting the full version instead of just RC1^^

RTM != RTW.
RTM = Release To Manufacturing, which is not retail, which would be a RTW (Release To World) release. |
Almost always, unless a major flaw happens to be about, the same on retail. Vista's RTM [build 6000] was the final build released on retail. It happened to be about 4 months ahead of General Availability.
It's a way to get companies a head start in Hardware and software development, before general availability.
