So what's with the update?

Aren't we supposed to get an update on the first Thursday of each month, for map rotation, tonic rotation and XTH points? Cuz... it's now the Sunday following the first Thursday... and still nothing.

the updates come two Thursdays after the monthly, not the first Thursday of every month.

reward points are usually 2nd thursday of following month, which would be this thursday.

have you NOT noticed this in the past YEAR?

My mistake... don't usually really pay attention, always thought it was the first... meh, thanks for the replies...

Well, last month, May, the XTH points, tonic, map rotations, and that stuff came on the first Thursday.

So if there is an update most people are QQ'ing 'oh noes they have killed RoJ/anything else!!' and if the update is delayed (without any information why) everybody wants the update and thinks that anet is going to mess very badly with skills with that update. Ergo they want to QQ.

The rule is NOT the 1st Thursday nor is it the 2nd Thursday. It is the Thursday of the 1st full week in the month. Since this time the 1st of the month began on a Monday rather than a Sunday (first day of the week), the first full week in June starts today. Therefore, the updates will be given to us on Thursday of this week.

Now if you followed that, it explains why sometimes the updates come on the 1st Thursday and sometimes on the 2nd Thursday.

And no, it's not "always" on the 2nd Thursday of the month. (it happens more often on the 1st Thursday - Of the last 17 updates, there have been 11 on 1st, 4 on 2nd, and 2 split between the two.)

It is the first thursday of the first full week. If the week starts on a sunday the update will be the first thursday if the week starts on a monday,tuesday, wensday,thursday,friday,sat it will be on the next weeks thursday.

It is and always has been the first full week of the month. Since june started on a monday it will come the 2nd thursday of the month.

There was a "LOL" right in the middle. I wasn't trying to be rude. I was smiling as I typed. Why did you say that? We're discussing the updates not bashing people.

And next week we'll be bashing updates! (well, some people will be)

They came on the first Thursday of the month which was the second thursday after the monthly. The April monthly was on the 25th because the next Saturday would be May 2nd. The update came May 7th because that was two weeks after the Monthly. My point was that the updates come in according to the monthly automated tournaments and they always have. It has nothing to do with whether or not it is the first or second week of the month. It works this way so that the balancing staff can view the monthly and then have enough time to make adjustments for next month while releasing them in a timely manner so Guilds can become accustomed to the new meta before the next monthly. As far back as I can remember the updates have always revolved around the monthly (since the AT's were implemented) and as long as there is a monthly it will always continue to.

So no it did not come on the first Thursday. It did come on the first Thursday of the month in real time, but Guild Wars is measured by monthly seasons and those months end when the Monthly is over and then the next season begins. And it comes on the second Thursday of the new season.
