Allow heros to carry bundle items
Pugs Not Drugs
I play my ranger 99% of the time and I H/H 99% of the time. As I did that one mish in Nightfall today with the Horticultorist (can't seem the remember the name) I had to keep going back to kill the Harbringers, and I couldn't fight with the light in my hands. I know I could have dropped it, but I think it would be nice if you could target a bundle item and a hero would pick it up. And the target button would be replaced by a drop button (much like the rit ashes) so you could micro the drop. It would be nice for melee like me and it shouldn't be too hard to add. What do you guys think?
Helix Dreadlock
I guess, but I'm not so sure. It may be a waste. Could work. I personally like it
Banane-O-Man
Would be very useful when doing Heart of Shiverpeaks, or when you have to carry the spear/urn, it is really a pain when you're a melee class.
Verene
Oh I could not agree with this more.
My main is a Dervish. I like to kill things. Do you know how annoying it gets having to cart around some stupid item which makes me unable to do anything? Gah.

yes yes yes yes yes.
Ive thought this for ages, i hate doing arborstone when passing through with a melee class. Id much rather my necro carry it, he'l have no problem with E-mangement, and still be able to do whatever i set his skills to do.
Whereas i, a melee class am just basically sitting around waiting for my team to polish off the mobs, or having to drop my item and loosing all bonus i may of achieved with it.
Or for times like in old ascolon doing it in HM with my warrior, and passing all the catapult pieces but can only carry one piece at a time.

So sick of carrying mission required crap on my physical attack characters when my hero's can do it so much easier.

I don't agree with this. I mean with the harbringer mission you are talking about, it kind of takes the hard part of the mish out by allowing heroes to carry. I think going with humans should be the reward of allowing to carry items for flexibility.

Aurura Glade, Jennur's Horde, and all other bundle missions are just horribly designed when run with henchmen. They can already carry and drop ashes, so its not like they CAN'T do it.

Would be great if the same button that you can tell heroes to drop the rit bundles with would also allow them to pick up the item you have targeted.

Not gonna agree with this, even though I am annoyed with doing those missions with a class that needs the weapon to attack. Do we really want more reasons to play alone on a MULTIPLAYER game?

It's very annoying to have to deal with those types of missions
And yes u can get pugs but many people avoid pugs due to their high fail rate
Plus some missions are basically dead at times

Especially for items that need to be carried that're fragile. I'm looking at you, D'Alessio Bonus!
As for giving more reasons to solo:
Why play with a PUG member that could fail miserably when you can accomplish 10x more with a hero that is actually useful?

This is something that should have been in the game from the get-go.
As for encouraging use of H/H, there are already three very good reasons to bring humans over (or in addition to) H/H:
Humans get PvE-only skills
H/H are stupid
Henchie builds cannot be controlled and often suck

I agree with magumared, but things like bundle items should not force you to party either.
heros and henchmen make this game a single player Rpg and bundle items don't change that.

Getting full teams of competent players these days is hard enough as it is. Atleast having this function will lessen the burden when you have no choice but to go at it with h/h.
Although, if something llike this were to be added, I think hench should retain the ability to override your hold command so they can cast ash spells. The ability to rush in draw aggro and use my sword would be worth having to re-target the bundle again.

For those who say 'but its a multiplayer game!1111', you shouldn't be handicapped further for playing alone, and use your godam guild if you're so keen on the multiplayer aspect. Half the guild wars community are casual players who just want to get through a missions and thus use h/h. Stop being selfish.

I think it would be (hopefully) possible to do this. With the target crosshair button which you use a hero to lock targets on, you should be able to lock bundle items, such as flags, spear, urn, etc. When they pick it up, the crosshair is then replaced with the normal "Drop Bundle" icon. Very sensible, but unfortunately they didn't incorporate that.

Since the game is not supposed to be solely multiplayer, and I too play a ranger, the bundle crap makes H/H missions range from annoying (Jennur's Horde) to nearly impossible (Arborstone).

Yeah. By 'taling' to a hero the bundle you carry should be tranferred to the Hero. To get it back, you talk to the hero again, and done.
That bundle tranference should work also for all bundles but ritualsit ones, and between players too, not just heroes.

Diablo 2 does it - from memory, playing on Bnet didn't stop you from being able to create a game that others couldn't join (just password it and don't tell anyone the password) - and the ANet team started with three Blizzard guys coming away from D2. Even WoW allows solo-ing, even allowing for the chance of meeting someone in the persistent world, apart from the raids and such (which, for GW, are the zones for which you can't take henchmen). Why should GW be any different?
On the topic: No in-principle reason not to do it, so /signed. However, I suspect it might not have been done in the first place due to interface issues, so, unfortunately, it might not be reasonably possible.

I play Warrior mostly because I don't enjoy standing back to watch the action. It's a bit annoying that heroes are unable to carry these items. Can't see it being very much community affecting either way.
