First off, I'm new to this forum, so please bear with me if I made any mistakes .
Also, I read the ''what GW should I buy'' sticky.
But still I'm not sure about what to buy.
What I mainly want to do is PvP. Now, if I say, bought only Nightfall, will I really be gimped(compared to other people who have 3 parts)? Will I still be able to PvP against people who only have Prophecies for example?
I was thinking about getting Nightfall and Eye of the North. Would this be a smart decision to start off with?
I'm sorry if these questions are answered in the sticky, I couldn't find them.
I hope someone can answer these questions, many thanks.
Help me decide.

The main PvP area of Guild Wars is accessible from any of the chapters. When you go there, you'll be facing people from all over the GW universe. If you only have one chapter's skills available, you'll still be able to compete, but you will be at a disadvantage going up against players who have all three campaigns.
Fortunately, there are a couple of options: The first is you can buy the trilogy pack - it contains all 3 campaigns and can be purchased from the NCsoft on-line store, amng other places for $50. You'd still have to unlock the skills that you want to use, but they'd be accessible. The second option is to buy one chapter and then buy the skill unlock pack from the on-line store. (I'd go with the trilogy myself, that way you have access to all of the PvE side of things, too)

Ah okay. Thanks.

I suggest you buy all 4 games, they are all unique and fun to play, and you'll probably need all of them to get into all teams in PvP, even thoght you should be able to use some builds with almost the same effectiveness.
Anways, if you just want to buy 2 chapters I'd recomend not to buy EotN as it only adds 10 skills (that isn't pve only) while the other campaigns add much more.
Of those I'd recomend factions as both assassins and ritualists are commonly used secondary professions.

Prophecies is almost a must-have for any PvPer. The amount of skills that it has makes it necessary if you wish to PvP and have the most options available to you, so I would suggest going with this campaign. In addition, if in the event you get bored of PvP, you should have Nightfall with heroes so that way you can progress yourself in PvE with heroes without having to worry too much about LFGing in outposts, though it is always an option. Nightfall also gives quite a bunch of skill avenues and access to the dervish which are fairly decent in PvP.

EoTN may only add a few skills, but many of them are key skills;
Patient Spirit
Foul Feast
Spotless Mind / Cure Hex
just to name a few

buy em all 4 as a pack imo, not like its a big investment for all the hours fun u can get out of it( or buy all pvp packs if u want to pvp only)

If you only want to PvP as opposed to PvE, you can buy the PvP access kit and the relevant skill unlock packs from the ncsoft website.
PvP characters won't be able to PvE and you won't be able to create PvE characters with this option.
Otherwise, any of the campaigns will give you access to the PvP area but you will need to buy the relevant campaign to unlock the skills. Getting all campaigns plus eotn would be the best value as was said above, these can be bought in a bundle.
If you buy the unlock packs it means your pvp chars and heroes in pve can use the skills immediately, otherwise they have to be unlocked with balthazar reputation/skill points and money for pvp and pve respectively.

u pretty much need all 4 if u want to be competitive in pvp. also, keep in mind that pvp in this game has a decently steep learning curve and that it will take a decent amount of time, practice, and dedication to become competitive ;-)

If you think you want to PvE at all buy the campaigns, otherwise if you only want to PvP the PvP access kit is all you need.
