Better then Keg Farming?

I got about 7-10 event item drops when I bombed the group of 36, works out to about every 5-3.6 vaettir. Yeah, I can believe 1:10-1:30 runs for only killing the 36, makes absolute sense - totally inline with my 3 minute runs killing each mob separately.

I'm slightly skeptical that it's not worth spending another 20 seconds rounding up the other 24 and killing them, when zone/rezone takes 40+ seconds, but I guess I'm in a minority on that one. Now with the vendor summoning stone, you can spend hours and hours without having to rezone/unload golds - and given this I might have to reconsider...

However, I have great problems believing 7-10 event items on average for that group of 36 vaettir. I saw more like 3-5 on average, and that's over 10+ hours. Peak runs gave me around 7-8 for that group (4-5 for the other).

Sounds like you had a real lucky 80 runs/2 hours farming the north half in your test.

I'm quite skeptical that 36 vaettir consistently drop 2x as much event items as 34 raptors - that's just totally illogical. I mean, why would they bother checking mob type to determine %event drop likelyhood (maybe level plays into it, lvl 25 vs 26?!?). But hey, I guess we can all believe what we want to.
