Anyone got a virus alert from GW.exe
phoenixtech
Running comodo internet security, gw.exe was just alerted to contain a virus, I doubt it's a true virus since there weren't any alerts yesterday, but would like to know if anyone else got the same issue.

Gw.tmp was what threw the false positive. Only a heuristic warning. No virus in it. Just add to the excluded lists.

Nop have not got it, probably fake.

Yeah, I got the same message when I tried Comodo. I wound up ditching it and using something else because of a few false positives, and the fact that the firewall can't understand that "no" means "NO!"
What's funny is that before I even clicked to read this thread I thought out loud, "I bet he has Comodo AV."

If you wish to use freeware then I suggest one of the "3 A's)
Avast
Avira
AVG

It's a false positive. Ditch Comodo's crapware av and use avast.

Maybe a slight explanation is in order.
Comodo's firewall is GREAT!
Comodo's AV is CRAP!
Don't let the one put you off of the other.

I use both of them. (Eset at home, McAfee at work)
I have no need for the free versions. While they may be good enough, there are payware programs that have characteristics that the free programs cannot match.

yes and they both get lower ratings from all the test sites ive seen making them total garbage the free ones offer more services you can pay for and do a way better job

Virus alert? No.
But sometimes Comodo (firewall) catches it trying to install hooks into whatever's running at the time. I suspect it's looking for cheat programs.
And I happen to agree that Comodo's AV sucks. Get Avira.
