EotN Rep Points WITHOUT Hero Handbooks?
dts720666
How many Rep Points for each title (vanguard, asuran, norn, dwarven) will a character get just by going through EotN - doing missions, primary quests, dungeons, HM vanquishing, without turning in any Hero Handbooks?

you can get the max titles in any of the areas, whether it be asura, deldrimor, norn, or the ebon vanguard, you can max them all by doing missions, primarys, and dungeons in NM until rank 5, or you can just do all of that in HM and get the same effect, it will take a much longer time period to do it without using the heroes handbooks but it is still possible to do. good luck and have fun

the average points for a first run in missions in NM is around 300-750, first time dungeons 1000-1500 doing all in NM will easily get r5 but in HM It would take much longer and it wouldnt get the max rank... imo just take the books no reason not to :P!

After doing the complete NM storyline of Primary Quests, no non-mandatory dungeons, and most of the quests, I was rank 4-5 in the titles. I have on good authority from a friend that if you complete Legendary Master of the North (NM and HM) as well as all of the Quests and such, you will be nearly maxed in all of the titles, without handing in any of the handbooks. This does of course, depend on how many shortcuts you take (ie avoiding mobs as much as possible while out and around)
Doing the Zaishen Quests help a lot, as many offer 1,000-1,500 additional title track points.

Vanguard was my last title i maxed, but before i started maxing it, i was rank5. This was after ive done every dungeon HM and NM, after ive vanq'd all the areas, and completed the storyline Nm and HM.
So yeah, after all that, i was R5.

So yeah, after all that, i was R5. I'm sorry, but I find this very unlikely. I note that you didn't list quests here, so I will assume that you did not do a single one apart from primaries. Let me run the numbers:
Search for the Ebon Vanguard - 250
Against the Charr - 1000 + 1500
The Dawn of Rebellion - 250
Warband of Brothers - 1500 + 2250
What Must Be Done - 250
Assault on the Stronghold - 1000 + 1500
The Missing Vanguard - 1000
Catacombs of Kathandrax - 1500 + 2250
Rragar's Menagerie - 3000 + 4500
Cathedral of Flames - 1500 + 2250
Grothmar Wardowns* - 3300+
Dalada Uplands* - 3800+
Sacnoth Valley* - 6800+
*Vanquishes assume average net bounty of 3, and that boss bonuses are fully met
-----------------------------------
Total: 39,400 points
Now, this assumes a lot of things, and is a conservative estimate. This assumes you don't kill a single foe for points outside of vanquishing, complete only the quests listed above, etc. Considering this is only 600 points below r6, I'd say you either are mistaken, or you completed these things before Vanquishing Bonuses were established.

I think I didn't ask my original question very well. I was intending to ask a question that would lead to the following type of answer. (It's kind of like Jeapordy! Here's the answer, now what's the question?)
So thanks Ariena for the answer:

Can anybody else confirm this?
The reason I ask is that I have been working at filling Hero Handbooks in NM and HM, and it is incredibly boooooooring. So I am thinking of just working toward my Legendary Master of the North Title (with 1 of each Hero Handbook NM and HM and Dungeon Handbook NM and HM in inventory) and am hoping that by the time I get Legendary Master of the North, I will have also maxed out my four rep titles. (I will, of course, do NM before HM and vq and then turn in the NM books before reaching r8).
Has anyone else done this, and where were you in the four rep titles when you finished LMotN?

The wiki lists the points for every quest and dungeon, NM and HM, plus point averages for vanquishing each area. Just get out your calculator and total them up. That should pretty well answer your question. Of course, you'll also get a bunch of extra points for killing while under bounty while doing NM side quests, dungeons, etc.

I have LMoTN, I farmed Norn Title to max before doing it, I turned in 2 HM mission books, 1 HM dungeon, and 1 of each NM books, and I still have 30k dwarf and 50k asura left... and I only went over 10k in Norn and 7k in Vanguard.
You can't rly avoid mobs if you're vanquishing... and killing mobs doesn't help in missions.
