I do lots of farming, and one of my farming areas is outside of augury. When I go back to the town there is almost always someone that comes up to me and says "you buy?". If I whisper they wont respond and if I close trade with them they follow me around until I leave. I was wondering if these are bots or just really stupid people.

They are bots. I have had these come up to me several times, and every once in a while if you offer a crazy low price they'll actually accept it.

You can change ur territory when you log in(where you play). And you can change the language in options.

They're Korean farmers, not bots (if you mean, by bot, an automated program). I doubt that you meant to imply they are stupid because they can't understand English, unless you would argue that English speakers who don't speak Korean are stupid.

No I am talking about English people, who are messed up in the head. If they are Korean they should go back to their own districts.

I am pretty sure some of them are not real people. Just to see if they were I stayed up for 3 days in the same district and kept gettin trade offers and the question "you buy?" from the same bot. I even added the bot to my friends list and was on everytime and in the same place. I bought a lot of gold unidentified items from one and now i get a lot of pms having to do with buying gold online.

I was looking at the second part, just surprised me that you think everybody should stay in their native districts.

I had the same reaction ... I've never understood that kind of thinking. The whole beauty of the Internet and of games that you play on it is the fact that it is worldwide.

Korean farmers don't bother me, English-speaking scammers do. In fact, Korean famrers' prices are actually pretty reasonable. The fact they don't speak English well mean they cannot sweet talk you into a bad deal. Just my 2 cents.

Well if they cant speak english why are they there? I dont think that EVERYONE should stay in their own district. But if you cant understand the language of the district, simply dont go there.

Just curious ... do you think that Americans should stay out of countries where they don't speak the language? There would be a lot fewer tourists in France each year, smile.

Try International Ascalon lol.

I get no less than 5 people running up to me right as a i login and PMing me with "What weapon you buy?"

Its great if your looking for some weapons. They ARE quite reasonable. But it gets annoying if you don't want anything :\

Sad that a good percentage of the people that do that are sweatshop farmers making money to sell on Ebay for their employors. Thats why their reasonable with prices. They got ALOT of junk to get rid of, they wont fight over 5-10k.

--------

Also, sometimes the big Ebay companies will come to Lion's Arch dist 1 (you know it cause they all have similar names and act like sell bots) - These are fun to mess with.

Go there and type in "WTB 10/10 Sundering String" or some other perfect mod thats worth alot, and see how many PMs you get WITHIN SECONDS from these people just stating the price they sell for, ie. "10/10 20k ok?"

My record has been 9 different people.

Think of it this way: If you were in another country and a salesman came up to you and only knew two words of english and said "you buy?", and you replied by asking how much it was and he doesnt reply. Now wouldnt you be annoyed?

Yes but then I'd just brush it off, no biggie. If it annoys you that much then just offer 1 gold and you might get lucky. If you don't, oh well.

Yes I agree with you that if it was only one time it wouldnt matter that much. But this happens to me alot, not just once.
