Thanks for putting a smile on my face guys.
If you love the thread so much, why are you reporting it? Let me guess: 'lolol I troll u'.

Try to wring some sort of discussion out of this topic before descending into crap.

Q: How much care is actually put into Guild Wars?

A: From what I can see - They are not caring as much as they should. There can be various reasons for this - time, people, skill, processes, or simply they don't give a shit, etc.

(Or maybe they do care. WE, the players, are just not aware of it, meaning communication is not done efficiently. For all we know, they are looking at every single thing, or virtually everything, we have been asking for, there is just not enough time and people to do them all. This is where it would be nice to know what is happening, coming up on the horizon, any problems, certain delays, etc. This is what communication is supposed to be there for.

An uninformed player is a player that feels shafted and not part of the game.)

Lutz, I think that it's been mentioned that their test servers function differently from the real game servers, and so some bugs do not occur until the game goes live. Anet are usually pretty swift at fixing these anyway.

But I wholeheartedly agree with you about balance updates. No nerf to bspike after about 6 months of the current build is stupid. I even believe Izzy had a nerf to bspike on one of his update notes, but for some reason it was removed and never brought live.

with the new live test crew, i think, anet is in need of more manpower. their inhouse testers are probably worked out with gw2. maybe we will see new areas introduced to the game in the far future.

so there will be definately more dialogue between players and devs, although the testers won't be allowed to talk about additions to the game, which are currently being developed.

I thought we all knew by now that NCSOft doesn't wanne fund GW1 anymore, only the bare minimum. Aion is their latest flagship and GW2 is in the shipyard under construction to play a similar role in the future. The recources for GW1 are limited and the live team is understaffed for the things we expect. The live team gets the heat instead of the suits in Korea, but that's business I guess.

The OP's point seemed to be that diminished as they are, the resources at the disposal of the GW1 team are largely squandered. There always seems to be plenty of time to do crap like tonics, the zaishen menagerie, etc. but none to do proper updates for PvP skill balancing. Perhaps we've been written off as a minority that cannot be pleased, but that doesn't excuse the updates that have been counter productive and full of bugs.

Well Regina posted here on the forums that the menagerie was a project a coworker started over two years ago. She also added that parts of that update were made by employees after working hours.

I also think that skill updates are more complex when it comes to coding and things that can go wrong, unforseen effects etc.

It seems to me that only enough is put in to keep a good part of the playerbase around. At this point in time, they're not trying to pull any new players in, nor keep every player around. They just throw a little bone to those that are still around, and watch them jump for it. They know they can't keep everyone around at this point so why put a lot of effort into it? Those taht want to stay will, those that don't won't. Either way GW2 is their cash cow at this point, so their going to pour resources into it instead of GW1 which has needed, and still needs immense amounts of work.

We're SOL, and are going to have to live with the few bones we get per month, no matter how bad, small, or buggy those bones may be.

But then how would champ farmers get their champ points? They keep the economy going with all of their guild buying/selling (since they can't keep them above 1200) so why would anyone want to hurt their business? That's just silly.
