So since I've started this game I've been farming gold and spending the money on Zkeys in the hopes of getting an Everlasting Tonic. I must've opened the chest a good 100 times and all I ever get is pretty much crap.
I'm wondering how many more times you guys think I'll have to open the chest before I get an EL drop.

As I understand it, the odds of that chest giving an everlasting tonic are EXTREMELY low, like way less than 0.1% chance. They're trying to track the chest drop rates on wiki and they don't even bother counting EL tonic because there's no way they can get a large enough sample to determine the EL odds with any certainty.
If you're only in it for the everlasting tonic to keep for yourself, I'd say you're better off saving your gold and buying one from someone else. If you're doing this hoping to get an everlasting tonic to sell for profit, you'd be better off just keeping your money and saving up for whatever it is you do want.
And I think 1/1000 chance is way too high, or the prices for these wouldn't be as high as they are.

Ive used 685 key (worked out by how many points ive got) I had my EL drop around 300ish mark. My friend used his first ever set of 20 keys, and got an EL drop and 3 elite tomes...
I use 20 keys get roughly 9 crap golds, 3 white tomes, most notably sin and rit tomes. and then the rest creme brulees and alcohol.

Odds are, if you want a specific drop like EL tonics, it'll be cheaper to just buy them. Zchest is there for title, the good drops are just a nice and rare bonus.

The Zchest is a gamble, so chances are it may be awhile before you get a EL tonic, if ever. I've personally used about 250 zkeys with nothing too 'omg spazztastic'. But as long as the Creme Brulees and Firewaters are at a minimal I'm content.

I've opened the Zchest 1195 and I got 2 EL drops in total. The first one (Abbysal) was at about 500-700 I think. The second one was last month (1100 something).

PS I always use my lucky char ( superstitious am I or what? lol ) cause that char got a mini polar bear drop from winterday chest last time.
So maybe try a char that you think seams to get better drops playing you never know.

I have used 400 and got nothing but crappy golds and creme brulees alcohol my only best drops have been 5 elite tomes and 1 celestial compass so theres a big chance you not getting what you expect

the chest is a lottery. One can open it 1000 times and never get a tonic. Its a gamble which 9\10 times will not make you rich. If anything it will get a small amount of your debt back. If you are seriously looking to get rich dont waste your time on the chest buy your own tonic and move on

lol if you wanted an EL you could have just bought it with the 100 keys yu had (depending on which tonic obviously). Most of them are within that price range anyways.

Funny thing about the El tonics is: Now that Nicholas is so frequently giving away mysterious tonics, how valuable do you really think your EL tonic is when you are likely to run into 1 or 2 kunevangs daily in any given outpost, in addition to dozens of other tonics? Think about it. You go into town and decide to use your EL Phantasmal. Oh gee... theres a beetle here... and a Norn... and a rainbow phoenix... and a skeleton dog, and so on. The fun wears off fairly quickly.

its a gamble, but the chances for an EL is fairly low, hence the reason they are so expensive, your better off selling the zkeys then either buying the EL, if you want one, or buying w/e you wanted to buy with the money you wouldve gotten from selling the EL.

I'd say plan to open 500, you should get atleast 1 EL tonic from 500, plus a ton of extra stuff that can help you get closer to titles. Not to forget those contest winning item skins.
I also heard that if you have atleast one person in your party with you when you open the chest, you get better drops. I tried it and got a beetlejuice tonic and a max sun and moon shield from two zkeys. That was the first time I opened the chest and the person with me called me a lucky bastard cause he gets crap (creme's and fireworks)
I'm saving up 500 keys, getting someone in my party and opening them until my inventory is full. Dumping the loot in storage and repeating until all 500 are gone.
I don't even care about the EL tonics. I just want those cool skins without having to deal with fow/uw ory paying the very high prices.
