Hero team advice for Human SS

Okay, so I'm kind of tired of running discordway, as I find running an SS bar more entertaining (and better practice for pugs) than running the AP bar that works better with discord. So...anyone have any thoughts on hero teams for a human SS? Would you still run discord? Is there a reasonable way to sub yourself in as the SS on a sabway build and bring a physical hero (like an earth shaker or something)? Any other ideas? Basically, I'm in the middle of vanquishing and just looking for new ideas.

Many thanks.

I find SS casting time too slow for me. It works, and may be even better than AP in some areas with lots of hex removal, but most of the time, the target dies too fast.

I'll share a little secret build of mine. It works with any secondary

Ok, somebody is really going to have to explain to me the attraction of Icy Veins.
I see people advocating it a lot with very little reasoning and as far as I can tell (and from when I've used it), it's terrible.

With regards to heroes for a human SS:
Well a MM is always good. Bone Minions, Death Nova and some support skills.
Some sort of healer, be it a N/Rt, monk or Ele ER healer is usually desirable.
If your bar contains barbs and Mark of Pain (which it should in my opinion), a paragon is nice. Hell, a paragon is always nice.

I've never tried out an Earthshaker hero, but I'm always wary of melee heroes - their AI isn't too great.

Physical heroes in general work great with curse necros that bring the usual physical support skills: barbs, mark of pain, and weaken armor.

Getting a 40/40 curses weapon set is very important for these types of necros, you want to be able to use barbs or mark of pain on the next called target as fast as possible (preferably you are the target caller so you can do it before the target even changes), and spend as little time as possible casting SS (obviously don't use it on the called target).

Icy Veins works well too, the downside compared to SS though is that it doesn't do much until the monster dies, and SS is more useful against single targets and in groups of fast attacking enemies.

And yes, you can easily sub yourself in as the SS in sabway, and you'll do a lot more damage because you can easily control what enemy is hexed with what, and where the target calls and mark of pains go.

I subed myself in for the SS in sabway while I vanquished most of Tyria, it works better than trusting it to a hero I've found and also leaves you a free hero slot for whatever suits the area you're in best (I tended it stick with a BHA ranger a lot).

And physical heroes do synergize very well with curses necros (particularly if you're packing barbs and mop) However I would actually stay away from Earth Shaker when using SS; as SS triggers on enemy actions, and having the foes knocked down all the time may end up working against your SS' damage. That being said I find my Earth Shaker hero typically works beautifully and I've come to prefer hammer wielding heroes/hench over most other types of melee.

I don't like SS, the only place you should use it is in UWSC. It's costly, slow casted, takes your elite slot, does minimal damage and relies on you getting damaged (through physical damage or from spells, doesn't matter).

MoP Nuker doesn't just work with discord heroes, it works with everything. Just bring two midline physicals (rangers and paragons) and give your heroes spears for the extra emf (it's an actual word XD).

But if you want to try SS anyway than I wouldn't run it with a discord team, it's best at spiking, thus decreasing your SS's potential. Casting it on a different character means that you waste time not taking the priority target as fast as possible which is bad.

I would substitute the SS necro in Subway with a SV necro (with Order of Pain if running with physical heroes) or the newly buffed ritualist/paragon.

while ss may not be as effective, i find it more involving to use. you pay attention to proper targeting, placing key hexes on key targets.. whereas discord is basically c+123456, then repeat.

i'd run 2 midline and 1 frontline, or 3 midline.
midline options could be a tease mes, fevered dreams mes, bsurge ele, spiritspam rit, etc... basically focusing on skill shutdown through interrupts alongside reducing their auto-attack dmg. you can have 1 frontline hero of your choice for more reliable dps, or rely on the henchie dps. mm is generally always a good idea for any team build.
