Searched around the forums, didn't really see anything that answered my question completely.

My question is this:

Since there are different bronze statues for your HoM armor, like Granite Citadel Exclusive/Elite/Ascended and Marhan's Grotto as well, if I want all the statues for my account based HoM, do I have to buy armor from there for each of my characters? Specifically for Warrior/Ranger/Monk for Granite and Warrior/Monk/Necro for Marhans or any combination?

Basically, am i going to have to spend lots of gold to get several different sets of armor for that monument?

If you chose account wide status for your HOM you only need to add one set of each type of armor to display that statue for all of your characters - eg Warrior Granite and Monk Marhans - going into HOM with your ranger will still display those statues.

ok, because when I go in with my ranger, it still says Marhan's Grotto Exclusive armor with the Male ele and female necro.

So would I have to get the armor for my ranger from Marhan's to get the statue for the Ascended statue?

I think what you are saying would be the same thing as if you were to go into the hall of monuments and look at Elite Luxon armor for a Dervish. It doesn't exist. So you just see a bronze statue and not your character wearing an armor set.

Some class have 3 armor sets in Marhan's grotto. Warrior has Elite Glads, Elite Templar, and Elite Charr (if I remember correctly). If you are getting the bronze statue with your ranger it simply means that the Marhan's Grotto armor you have doesn't match up with one of the Ranger sets. If you have every set for one of your characters and your ranger is still getting a bronze statue, then I would guess that yes, you would have to go buy it for that character.

I don't know for sure though, because I only have 1 full Marhan's set for a few characters.

This is all correct here.

Ok, I think I got the answer I was looking for. looks like I'm gonna be spending a lot more gold on more sets of armor then to max out that monument.

Thanks

I find this table helpful. http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/%22Resilience%22#Statues

Personally, I'm aiming to get at least one copy of each statue in an account-wide HoM. I'm doing this for two reasons - first, it gives me a goal to work towards while playing, and second, it can serve as a nice armor preview for other characters.

There's no way to know what any of this will do in GW2. Maybe the hall is full if you have any five statues showing; maybe you need at least one of every statue possible; maybe you need every possible armor for every possible profession. No one knows for sure yet. There's no point in freaking out about it now. It's a game, have fun. If something isn't fun, don't do it.
