...So I went looking for something else, and ended up with something just about as fast per mob, but capable of bigger mobs.
I went from:
Prot Spirit, Breeze, Mending, Balths Spirit, Essence Bond, Mantra of Resolve, Arc. Echo, and RoJ
to
Prot Spir, Breeze, Balths Spirit, EB, Resolve, Arc Echo, SoJ, Cry of Pain.
To make it even better, I now use Tahlkora much more. I have her run mending + watchful spirit for a constant +5 hp, as well as SB/AV/SV/Conjure Phantasm. On her own, she (smartly) casts Phantasm on every aggroed enemy (rather than focusing on 1 at a time).
So, because of knockdown I can aggro more enemies at once. Before, I could do maybe 5 aatxe at once... now I can do just about as many as I can reach. While it may take an extra 10 seconds or so to kill each mob, the fact that I can take 2 mobs at once means it's faster overall.
I don't know if anyone other than me actually still bothers 55'ing UW, but just thought I'd share my solution =)
They nerfed my 55RoJ...

If you are using a hero, why not just go 600/smite?

My thoughts. And btw, RoJ was never good for 55 imo

Just run a 600/smite.

I could be wrong here, but with 600/smite, if the other guy dies, you're screwed, right?
This way, I'm still OK without a hero. I could do it completely without a hero, butit makes it slower.

Well, I've never experienced problems with my hero dying when I was doing 600/smite. Just watch the mobs and where your hero is flagged.

With a 2 second cast time on Rend. And cry of pain can interrupt without a hex.
