I bought an additional copy of Guild Wars to use as second account, and to use it as storage character for in pre-searing.

I went to the northlands to level together and when done I dropped some of my items I wanted to transfer to my other character and zoned out.

But with my new character I cannot pickup these items. (Error message: "you cannot pick up items dropped by another player withing the first 24 hours of your account creation.")

Am I screwed now? I don't want to lose the items but I cannot come back with my primary accout char:

Yeah, this is done to prevent gold farmers from easily laundering their money by moving it through new accounts.

I'm pretty sure they can track that behavior anyway. Remember the armbrace duping fiasco? A lot of accounts were banned because they traded with the people who created items.

That is still why this is implemented. New accounts can't trade or pick up items from other people. Botters would rather have some newbie account banned with their gold then an account that is usable to farm.

@Nanood - but as Hyper discovered, you can't go to sleep. If you dc you need to reconnect before 10 minutes is up or all is lost.
