Collectors Editions

I would love to be able to use the shop to buy collector editions for either a single campain or for having all campains, unlocking Collector Edition Items or emotes. As i currently miss those in the arena shop and be willing to invest in ingame merchandice.. Esp. if GW2 is still 2y away... 2 years will give time to finish up on other campains though, but it still be nice to be able to spend money now on things i could have bought earlier.
Perhaps even make it so you can only unlock the collector items if you actually finished a compain 1x on your account. Giving ppl more incentive to finish their campains b4 we head into GW2

I'm always willing to add a +1 /signed to add /dancenew to the shop. Maybe they are saving it for extra income whenever these storages and makeovers start slowing down. Probably didn't want to provide all of these services at once, get more cash if you space it out instead of overloading customers all at once. Not so much the special glow hands from the Prophecies Collector's though, those seem like something that people actually deserve to keep rare.

yea just factions and nf /signed

If they ever did implement this which I doubt they ever will because it will anger alot of people who spent their money on collectors edition and like to be the ones that are uniqe because they have it and you don't.
If they ever did.. it should be per character, you choose which character you want the collectors edition emotes on and for a steep price you can have it to prevent some of the QQing from the people who already have it because you're getting completely ripped off and they got a good deal.
The collectors items? Just the weapons or the Miniatures? Yes to Weapons. No to Miniatures.
I'd like a high price to prevent QQing and absoloutly everyone having the emote, just weapons and no miniatures and they must be baught per character only and not per account, we missed out we shouldn't get the same benefit that the people with collectors edition baught, but like I said I highly doubt it's going to happen..ever.

I'd love to get my hands on the DA - but as long as there are no bonuses in GW2 from it, there is no need to change anything.

Someone who bought the collectors editions when they first came out "like I did" have had the extras for some time.
Its really no big deal for others to get it at this late date.
The only ones who will be upset are those who have a couple of prophesies collectors editions who expect to get hundreds of dollars for them.
Why not make the aura colour different ditto the dances then not only will they sell to new people but the older players will pay to get the new effects.
More effects more dances more happy players and more money for the creators of GW
win win situation imo

I've got all ces and wouldn't mind an option for others to upgrade their accounts. i bought them because i wanted the art books/posters/fanboy-stuff etc for myself but not to say "ha! i own them and you don't!" to others.

I believe the good and fair rarity is rarity over time.
The first iPod was a novelty, the last will not.
The first car was a rare, the last will not.
Things should have more prestige the sooner you get them.
And after enought time has passed (1 week, 1 month, 1 year. 1 decade... depending on wha are we talking about) everything should be available to anyone (who pays for it).
I have all CE but the Prophecies one. And the reason I don't have the Prophecies one is that I didn't have Internet until connection 2006.
Ever since I tried GW after getting Internet, I got everything available out there.
If not now, maybe in a couple of years when GW2 goes out. But sooner or later it should be done. It's won't be fun to have thousands of people download stuff in their GW.dat that will no loner be used because most player that could show it moved to GW2.

Well i collected all the regualar campains throught the years, (regardless of having the time to play), now that i have this collection would be nice to also make it more of a collection; And if you shelled out all the cash for all campains, then why shouldnt you be able to get a total collection edition ... w/e the reason for me not to buy a collectors edition back then and shell out cash in the past, to then not be able to shell that cash now, that i have a collection
And making hundreds of bucks for an collectors edition of someone that allready has all GW1 campains, is rather silly, as i can not add the collectors edition i buy of a 'Customor' to my current account, so it is currently useless to me; Perhaps that is best sold to a New GW2 Customer instead...
Unless perhaps in the future i would also want to have said edition to further the collection.. If the items are not exactly the same and/or buying a collectors edition now, has certain requirements for unlocking the items (hence the Campain Collectors and Total GW collectors). The items could still stay relatively rare. Any Previously bought Collectors Editions could perhaps change into Ancient Collectors Editions, perhaps unlocking more/other items that are not in the regular collectors editions? Making some collectors editions even more rare , namely those that have atleast one collectors edition of a regular campain and all the other campains aswell and perhaps meet certain ingame requirements to unlock the item.

Honestly, I'd probably pay good money for the extra pre-order and CE stuff (depending on what that "stuff" is - mini's I'll pass, the dance emotes, I'd like, all lore stuff, I'll take *_* xD). But that's only if I got good money. >_>
Screw the online store, I'll buy the boxes from anet. >_>

I'd love to buy the collector's editions of Factions and Nightfall, don't care much for the glowy Prophecies effects since it would interfere with videos and screenshots. I look on Amazon and I see the Factions CE for over $200. It used to be like $60, and it's jumped up to that price. I'd like just being able to unlock the stuff from the store (special dances and mini Kuunavang) and the special dances in Nightfall. I realize it's CE and they made them limited for a reason, but now that the game's been out for a few years, why not allow people who don't have it to get the chance? I would have gotten the NF one but it was sold out in the store the day it was released.

to buy the ce of prophecies i paid a decent amount of cash and to me it was worth it. it really wouldnt bother me if they did this. there was thread i remember signing before i ended up getting the ce and i /signed then and now always figured this would be a nice way for anet to make a little extra cash as for the price id like to see it at the original price or slightly higher and not a cheap reduced price.i bought both the factions and nightfall ce when they came out
MithranArkanere
On top of all, we'll get just game keys. All the other CE stuff can't be reproduced and it's actually limited. So the original CE can probe it just with a newspaper photo with the stuff.
Nessar
I have factions & Nf ce. I suppose just selling the /dancenew would be fine through the store. Although I wouldn't mind if they sold the proph ce aura either >.>
So /signed for the dances.

How is it collecting then? EVERYONE WOULD HAVE AURA?!

Just buying the DA and dances would be nice...I got the NF CE, but id rather have gotten factions or proph, only because i never play para or derv...

I never heard ncsoft promise that the collectors edition was limited in numbers and even if they did they certainly never said that they wouldn't reissue them at a later date.
It was simply if you paid one price you got the basic edition and for a little more you got the special or collectors editions.
Second many people had very little chance at all of getting the collectors editions because some stores never stocked it.
If you happened to live far from the larger stores, the smaller stores just got a few in and those just the standard edition.
Once they had played GW many more people pre ordered to be sure to get the future collectors editions.
Maybe the gw towns will look a little silly with hundreds of players sporting the aura but so what.
If the only thing you have that makes you "somebody different" in the gw world comes from the fact that you where living near a big games store and had the ready cash at the time then that's a pretty sad state of affairs.
As I said before if they made the new aura a different colour and the new dances different the original collectors would still have their "special" status and the rest could have similar effects.
Its like the party masks from events everybody gets them but they differ each year.
Now come down from your elitist positions band together and call for ncsoft to sell new "collectors" effects we would all benefit.

That would defeat the whole purpose of them being collectors edition.

I wouldn't mind more upgrades like Game of the Year edition that are cheap and available as an upgrade, but don't implement something that's suppose to be rare and give it out to everyone. Leave divine aura and /dancenew to those who bought it originally.

you can still get the collectors edition boxes just look on ebay

As for people saying it wouldn't be a collector's edition if everyone was able to get it, I do see your point, BUT some of us weren't able to get it because the store didn't carry it. We would have bought it but the noob store only got the standard edition in. I realize it's collector's edition, but as someone stated, ANet never said they'd only release so many copies and wouldn't release them at a later date. Re release them so we'd have some "new content". At least give us the new dances and minis - it's ridiculous to have to pay over 100k for a mini Kuunavang yet a mini Varesh is hardly 5k and both are collector's edition items.
Kattar
Been suggested before. The general consensus if that it would outrage so many people that bought the CE originally and would also defeat the purpose of a limited edition, never to be repeated offer.
