We NEED an update dedicated to fixing armor glitches
Lishy
I don't feel like writing an essay. So I'll let these images of the lack of plate hanging down when you look at this armor from behind to be an example of GW's many, many, many, many, MANY armor glitches
I spend a lot of money for elite armor, dangit. What's with the glitches? Anet, ya' gotta fix em eventually

You should be proud that you're a magician!
Has Anet ever fixed glitches on armor? They don't really bother me, I'm just curious.

I R a sad puppy after finally buying my leg piece to find it glitched
And I know others who went through the same crap... Blowing over 45k to find what looked cool clips like hell is incredibly frustrating.

Just to add to before:
Clipping is one thing. But disappearing armor pieces is a big bowl of "WTF?!"

Helix Dreadlock
lmao!
They should have an armor-preview button, where you can view what it'd look like, and still be able to preview-dye it, so you know it may/may not look good before blowing off all that fluckin money.
Or they want to have a gold sink and ignore the QQ.
I perfer option #1

yeah there are glitches that are preventing me from buying certain armor sets.
I really wish Anet will take a month of no PvE updates (PvP skill updates need to be there i guess) and just fix all the armors.

One thing i have ALWAYS THOUGHT about armor glitches are this:
Obby armor STILL Glitches,
thats been around since the start of the game.
If they were going to fix any full armour sets. it would be them.
And since they have been around so long and havent done anything about it. i highly doubt they will now..

I totally agree, however...

A: General clipping issues are usually considered minor and don't often get fixed after release. Right now, all our artists are working on Guild Wars 2 and when we do get artist time, we'd generally like to use it for making cool new stuff. |
Lishy
Contrary to linsey's faq, not everything clips. Some disappear

I love Norn mesmer armor, but I had to get rid of it because the clipping is so bad.
That and the texture is fuzzy and near detail-less.

No, we don't NEED. Its not in the NEED category.

While it's not really a NEED per say, it sure is annoying. And not just with the armors; some hair styles or weapons clip with certain sets. Pronged fan? Clips with like 95% of the armors available (at least for the monk). In fact, so do all fans as far as I know. I spent 50k on a pronged fan to see it, not to have it clip into my monk's armor. Please fix armor glitches.

Still Number One
If you zoom out too far with the camera it begins to clip. If the clipping is really that bothersome to you you can just zoom in to a certain point and it won't clip anymore. It's what I do (that and dye it black).
MithranArkanere
Female Imperial Ritualist armor has no pelvis. Just two legs sprout out from thin air. That can be seen when she dances.
...but armor glitches are at the bottom of the list in priority.

Anet needs to stop hiding behind GW2 and fix GW1's issues. GW2 is going to have issues and those will be ignored for Anets next exciting product of issues.
Quality control must not count for much in the video game world. I'm starting to understand why so many people harp on GW/Anet/NCsoft.
Atleast Blizzard gets around to actually fixing problems in their games. Might take years, but they do. But I'm still not gonna switch to world of warcraft.

You don't need anything, but you want everything. 'Tis human nature to confuse the two.

Gogo support ticket. Eternal Forgemaster scammed me and sold me tainted armor. banplzkthx.
But yeah, my Mesmer's Mask of the Mo Zing clips with the back of his coat and it annoys me to the point that I just don't wear it.

Am I the only one who thinks it looks better from the behind like that?

How is, "All of our artists are working on GW2," using GW2 as a "scapegoat"? They've been really frickin' frank with us that this game is on its last legs, support-wise. A scapegoat would be, "We'd love to do it, but we're kinda busy with this over here, so maybe sometime in the future." Contrast that with, "Eh, guys, the entire staff is building a new game here, unless there's something game-breakingly horrible, can you chill out?" Hell, even before they started working on an entirely new game, armor glitches like this weren't exactly high-priority fixes.
This "glitch" isn't even a glitch, it's the polygon-reducing algorithm working as intended. Oh well, it tags a part of the model that you should be able to see from the back as invisible; this is my necro's only set of armor, and I've never noticed it in the 2 years that I've had the set.

How's the a glitch? Do you know it's supposed to be designed with the other plate hanging down in the back?
Axwind
And don't forget about guild capes clipping with all manner of staves, wands and some foci. It's why I always hide the capes on my casters.

Dragon Gauntlets.....
Why'd they even release them? as well as being pretty uglieh, they clip with _everything_. There is not 1 shield that looks nice w/ them. Most focuses also clip, or just plain look bad. And the way they're designed, they aren't really caster gloves, they fit more with the rugged nature of warriors, and rangers... so why not check to see if you could actually wear a shield and not look retarded before adding them into the game. I would buy a set for my warrior, but at one time I thought they looked nice with Dragon Tat's and a Dread Mask on my monk. So I know that just like my monk, I would never wear them.
anyway end of my QQ

I can live with the clipping, and my chaos gloves not showing behind my eternal shield, and with me looking like a Vietnam veteran with two stumps for arms every time I walk into water.
But we "need" other fixes and updates before they should start worrying about minor graphic glitches.

With limited time from developers and tons of gameplay issues that need to be addressed, they should definately focus on cosmetic changes.

You know, just speaking as a lead QA tester ( not for anet obviously. Different studio ) it would help tremendously if you actually pointed out exactly what "glitches" you are talking about in the case that any devs are reading this thread. When dealing with bug's, it doesn't matter how obvious you think it is - you still must be exact. Relying on assumptions never goes well. Also note that some dev's take the word "glitch" and "bug" in different context, some even consider the word glitch to be useless. Better to say "bug".
There is a reason why many armor bugs will not be fixed: they simply aren't that important. They have no major effect on gameplay and most of them are just nitpicks. Plus, Gw is already very lowpoly in places. There is only so much you can do with a UV unwrap on those models. There will be distortions in places no matter what you do. Some of the bugs may in fact be there because the alternative to fixing them would be increasing texture size or adding otherwise unnecessary tri's. This game does not need any more lag then it already has.

I could honestly care less, we certainly don't NEED this.
Let them work on their projects people swear will never be released, with these sorts of updates they probably never will.

OMG. I'm probably the biggest Armor hoarder there is (I even want the regular armor types that aren't maxed) and I can't sum up the the interest needed enough to notice the glitches, let alone care about them.
Seriously, who gives a frack about armor glitches?!
We have an utterly broken Xunlai Tournament House, Mysterious Lag Issues, overpowered professions, underpowered professions, bugged areas and dungeons, and a growing number of people losing interest in the game because it is so old.
But, hey! Armor Glitches!!1!

I also hoarde armor, but I still notice the glitches. Annoying, yes. NEED to fix, no.
