Mask of the Mo Zing
Kax0r
Hey there. I've just finished getting my warrior (first level 20) a full set of Elite Sunspear, dyed black, all the weapons perf and etc.
However, just for fun I tried the Iron Palm build on my PvP Assassin. I loved it.
I suddenly remembered my old, abandoned level 18 Assassin, and decided to hit 20 with that. One problem- I don't have the dough for an elite armor set. Here's the idea.
1) Get a plain set of Canthan armor (no helm) (Male assassin, by the way)
2) Dye it white
3) Get a Mask of the Mo Zing
4) Also dye that white
5) Have a clean, nice looking set of armor that doesn't look non-elite due to the mask.
BUT- I need to know if you need to do a crapload of quests to get to the collector. I don't feel like playing the entire EOTN storyline for some dumb mask, if you know what I mean.
So, how hard is it to get to the area where the collector is, and are there any prereqs?

You can find the info you need on the wiki, and I bet it will be faster to go there than to wait for a useful answer here..
Heres the link for the entry on the wiki http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Mask_of_the_Mo_Zing

Bad news is, 250 Superb Charr Carvings is going to take you a looooong time to farm.
Kax0r
Good news is: you can buy them.
And the wiki just tells me who, and that's not at all what I'm asking.

You need to unlock the collector by doing all the releated quests

But do I need to any quests to get into the ZONE where the collector is? Like, missions, etc?
Helix Dreadlock
You cannot buy them, you have to trade for with Superb Charr carvings (250).
You can expect paying around 30-40k for it. You must complete a small series of quests, after first reaching Doomlore Shrine I believe.

Anyway, it looks like you need to do half the questline including Against the Destroyers, amirite?
Kerwyn Nasilan
The most you have to do is the Charr Part and I am not even sure if you have to do that, you do need the Vael Quests and the cash for sure.
Kax0r
Ah, yes, but when I look at the Vael Quests, the first one, Be Very Very Quiet is preceded by about 10 other quests. So do I need to do them, also?

basically, you have about 1-2 hours of quests to do before you can get your mask.and it will take a while to buy your carvings unless you want to pay alot for them.
Kax0r
Yeah, that's what I meant- from players.
And where does the Charr storyline begin?

So basically you want elite looking armour to show off how cool you are but you don't want to bother with actually playing the game.

Well the link does answer that as well on the page about the mask you will see this.
"The Mask of the Mo Zing can be obtained from Vael inside Grothmar Wardowns (right outside of Longeye's Ledge) for 250 Superb Charr Carvings. "
"Note that Vael will appear as a collector only after you have done all of his quests. If any person in your party hasn't finished them he will appear as a quest giver near the center of the map "
Then after clicking on Vael you will find this under the heading "Collectors Items".
"Location: Grothmar Wardowns (outside Longeye's Ledge, after Single Ugly Grawl Seeks Same for Mindless Destruction in Ascalon)"
"The quests won't be available until you finish the Ebon Vanguard primary quests. "
As far as I see that tells you what you asked for (location and pre requests)..your question was "So, how hard is it to get to the area where the collector is, and are there any prereqs? "

thig hit it dead on, the carvings are usually 150 each so 250 will probly cost u 37.5k so its not to bad, tho doing the ebon vanguard primaries will get u 10-20

Basically, you need to do whatever it takes to get to Longeyes Ledge. I don't think that actually requires you to do any quests to get there. Once you get there, you'll need to do Vael's quests as noted above, and get 250 super-b's too.

As has been noted, you will get many of the Superb Charr Carvings you need as drops while completing the quests.
Doomlore Shrine is the best place to buy these. If you are low on money, you can pay for a Cathedral of Flames run (typically costs 2k) which usually nets you one or two carvings, plus other goodies worth more than your 2k fee.

To access HM for a campaign, you do not need to have beaten it on the character you are playing, only once per account. You only have to be level 20 to access it once it is unlocked.
